Hard n' Heavy

Well being new around here I've decided to bring up one of my favorite GNR things.  Do any of you geezers remember the hard rock video magazine Hard n' Heavy? On volume #13 they went to Rock in Rio with Guns. It's pretty fucking cool since it was GNR's 1st headlining show ever. It's also the biggest feature on the tape. You get an interview with an obviously inebriated Duff chilling on a hotel room bed. They tag along with Sorum around Rio. His 1st GNR gig. Lots of cool shit. Not much of Axl with the exception of him getting pissed off at feedback during soundcheck. Anyways it was a big deal becaus GNR made them re-release it because it included "Pretty Tied Up" and "Double talkin" Jive B4 the Illusions were released. I ended up thinking PTU was gonna suck, but looking back they didn't include the guitar in the mix. DTJ is complete and awesome though. Wow, I remember being really stoked because the Illusions release date kept getting pushed back. GNR, the masters of false hope and anticipation.

yeah i have the video, the bit with axl rehearsing coma is cool, and a bit where duff talks about the press and the song get in the ring (although its called "why do you look at me when you hate me") is also cool. Alot of it is focused on sorum though.

I bought that tape years ago-it's pretty good-they show what looked like the soundcheck (which Axl attended-they briefly start playing Coma until Axl's mike starts feeding back and he gets pissed yelling FUCK!)-show band only rehearsing Mr. Brownstone, an interview with Duff in his hotel room-pretty funny-Duff is sitting on his bed-you can see his hotel phone off the hook-you can imagine the media frenzy at the time-Slash going to somw kind of pet store looking at snakes-wish they would have shown more performance footage. Slash interview saying GNR is the most important thing in the world to him. A great time for the band, in my opinion-great footage of the people of Rio, also-would have made a gread documentary in my opinion, if they would have filmed more.
