For the haters that posted that this was Merck just doing his job -- no, it wasn't. These shows would have sold out in an instant without setting up any kind of presale for fan boards. I generally think that GnR management has flubbed a ton of things in the past few years, but credit where credit is due: this was a cool thing to do.

People complaining they didnt announce these shows first don't understand the big picture. Fans got screwed over in the first pre sale so management wanted to make sure the fans won, and they sure did! You are all very lucky!

a massive thankyou to all involved. I'm not going to NYC - but it sounds like great steps were taken to ensure fans got tickets - and that fcn rocks. i think this board has also been fantastic in sorting things out and keeping people informed - go jarmo! Cannot wait for Download - and am SO happy that so many Guns fans are gonna see the live spectacular in a matter of weeks!!!! bring it on! |

i want to again thank everyone involved! not sure if this had been mentioned, but i REALLY appreciate the relatively cheap price of the tix. i paid $125 face to see them in vegas, and it was worth every penny. a major band playing playing a venue that holds 3,700 in new york city could easily get away with charging significantly more money (and many other performers do). these tix could have been priced $20 - $60 higher (or more). so the cost made it very possible for the die hards to go to at least one show, and some even 3 or 4 shows!! so again, thank you. |

I have to admit I never thought I'd see such a cool gesture towards the fans from the band or management. We've never had a reason before now to think they actually gave a damn but trust me the effort put into the presale and trying to give every true fan a real chance at tickets is much apprecaiated. hell it's more than much appreciated. Granted now it didn't go down quit as smoothly as possible but hey what'ya expect. We're dealing with the internet combined with jerkoffs who try to ruin it for others so really I guess it go down as well as could be expected We could see the effort(the late night second presale password among other things) and when it comes right down to it the effort to reach out to the fans is what counts. This goes along way in restoreing my faith that the band/management DO care about the fans. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! Bono. |
