If its confirmed by the festival, in this case, the festival owner, the band has accepted to play. the only worrie is if... as Axl would put "something always seems to wrong in my world" and would have to miss this great opportunity to kick some major ass! ok

Well, that story came from one of the main sponsors and it was probably better way of dropping the bomb... GN'R are associated with the Rock in Rio festival, and this was a really well kept secret...

I think you're correct in saying that GNR is associated with the festival but I don't think it was ever a secret.

I believe that GNR's participation in this - as well as the previous two - Rio Festivals has more to do with their involvement with the Childreach Plan charity then it does with the "start of Chinese Democracy".  I think the only Rio festival that GNR was not in was the first one which took place in 1985 which, of course, was before the group existed.

IMO the Chinese Democracy album and the Rio Festival have no connection with one another other than we may get to hear more songs that might be on the album if they fit into the setlist.

Only that I am saying this based on assumption. I was told a while ago that gnr wouldn't tour again until they were certain that an album was going to be released, so I am just assuming that this is still the case

Mysteron, you rock.  It seems obvious that you're not allowed to tell what "product" this will be in support of, but thanks for the news.  It's good to know that we have one news guy who's actually somehow connected to the GNR scene.  Its gonna be a good year.  I'll graduate college in may, just as gnr is rockin again.

Should knock the spots off their RIR 3 gig.

But will the album be out by then . . . . . . if so could be full of new material.

A new product? Could Axl have changed the title of the next album? I wouldn't be surprised if they would do so because that title Chinese Democracy start to be old now. With all the new songs written in the last few years, this could give Axl the inspiration to change the title.

The only people who will be disappointed are people who put there hopes up too high. Yes I want this to mean chinsese democracy is coming out, but if all this means is that NuGNr plays at least 1 show i'll be happy.
