I will definitely be going to one of the shows, either night.? I'll take whatever I can get -- 2 tickets would be nice, but I'll go alone without thinking twice.

Put me down for what creps said.? I'll be coming from Minnesota and am definitely down for the pregame and postgame activities.?

An official pre-party will also be in the works for Monday starting tommorow for all HTGTH users..... I'm going to do my best to find us all a bar that will let us have our own section and jam out to Guns N Roses music from noon-6pm. peace

Will there be a new thread for this when the details are worked out.  Sounds Pretty cool.

As to this thread I hope the presale works out- already purchased plane tickets (as I suspect many others have as well) . This show is going to be sick.

I will definitely get the max number of tickets that I can. Of course I'll then graciously give out all but 2 of them at face value to anyone on this board who needs them. Everyone should try to do the same (assuming you have the money for it)

Already put this on the other NYC thread, but thought I'd try here too:

For anyone who is very familiar with New York or who lives there, can you recommend a few places to stay? I have been told that hotel rates in New York are insane, and I have seen some evidence of that on the web. Any ideas for cheaper rooms? Is there a college or university renting rooms, things like that? Perhaps there are places much cheaper in New Jersey or something that can be reached by taking a 24-hour subway or bus. Not talking about sleazy or dangerous places, just something reasonably priced.

honestly, just go to a bar or find a place to chill after the show. then just head to the airport straight from there.

Otherwise, sell your house.

Hi, my name is Dave.  Sorry that this is my first post- I should have been on this board long ago but have mainly stuck to lurking.  I don't expect you to trust me, but I hope that you do when I say that I am not a scalper.  I would give anything to get two tickets to one of these shows.  I am a younger fan that never got to see the original band but I thought I was finally going to get to see axl in Philly( in fact, I still have the online printout from the tickets cause I scored amazing seats well after they went onsale), but everyone knows how that turned out, and I'm not complaining because I know a lot of other cities got straight cancelled, but the fact that I had tickets for both shows and having to listen to Mix Master Mike for an hour and a half was a bit  tough to handle.  One way or another, I hope to get tix, but I would appreciate it if I could get in on a presale if there is one.  If it helps my chances at all, I can recommend a great bar somewhat close to Hammerstein that has has $3 drafts (cheapest I've found in NYC).  Hope you'll have mercy on me cause I truly am a fan and don't know what else I could say to prove as much and the tickets would be much better off in my hands as I walk in amazement into Hammerstein than in the hands of some scalper tryin to get $200 or more for them like on ebay.

Seriously, if for some reason I don't score tix to either night, and anyone from outta town has an extra, there will be a free place to crash at my apt. on my couch if they can sell me a ticket at face value.

If not, I would recommend to you out of towners looking into hostels in NYC.  I know there are a few in decent neighborhoods and they are MUCH cheaper then anything you'll find hotel wise.  If all you're looking for is a place to crash for the night you're prob better off looking into that option.

http://www.hinewyork.org/about_us.htm

This one is up near Columbia University I think, not the BEST area in NYC, but certainly not a "dangerous" one...if you cab it from the show and get dropped off right in front of the YHA you should be fine.  This place looks enormous and every HI-YHA hostel I've ever stayed at has been awesome.  Plus, the price for a room (rooms start at $29) will be MUCH lower compared to any other hotel you look at.  They also offer GROUP discounts I think if a bunch of you guys get together and want to make a reservation.

We are putting together plans to make NY tickets available to GN'R forum users first before they go on general sale. This applies to all GN'R forums, not just this one.

I think it would be great for all you people to meet each other, and it would also make it more special for the band.

Only people who are certain they are going should apply.

I will, hopefully, be able to give you more information tomorrow. For now, if you can decide if you are definitely going, that would be great.

thanks   peace

My wife and I are flying up.

I'm in for two, that is all we need.

Thanks for the help!

I've got a reservation at the chelsea star hotel in a 8 person dorm room. its only 30 u.s a night and its only like two blocks from the show. Yea you've got sleep in a dorm room, but i plan on having a couple pints after the show and passing out, then being up at dawn to check out new york...
