I've been wracking my brain today, trying to come up with any kind of plausible reason,as to WHY the FUCK any of you WON'T sign this fuckin' Petition!!

 I think I've figured it out but,they really aren't justifiable. It's a 2 part answer,I believe:

?1) You don't wanna see any other city that ISN'T YOUR'S have even the slightest chance of being even remotely considered a possibility of having a free show. This is just lame.

?2) You have become (no pun intended)....disillusioned with Axl and this band. You have lost the faith.
? ? After so MANY failed appearances, cancelled shows, rumors that never materialized,etc.etc,etc.....you have become like an animal that has been beaten down again and again and now snaps at anything in site.
You are barely hanging on and now don't want anything but ?show and an album in hand. You say "Fuck You" to everything else.

Are you blind now, after so much of the bullshit?? Has it really ruined you???

Yeah,we all want the album man but,to shoot down something without even TRYING....that is just fuckin' SAD. ?no ?I STILL believe in this band and in him.

?Yes,it seems like I am calling into question your status as a "fan". ?
If you are really a "fan",you would support this ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. Period.

?I would do the same for you. ?I would!! ?yes

-> A Pre-emptive FUCK YOU to those who will degrade themselves by name-calling and sinking to the lowest common demoninator. ?Grow the fuck up. <-

?Stand up for a change and sign this!!! Don't be jealous or tired, sign it and things could come to fruition!!
Do you know what will happen by not signing? Nothing. Nothing will happen. ?So why not at least TRY?!?
 ?

? I will NOT give up!! Have YOU given up already???

 ?
 ? ? ? ? Still Faithful,

 ? ? ? ? ? ? MATT

Listen buddy, nobody's obligated to sign your poorly worded petition.

If there's a North American tour this fall (as rumored) then there will probably be a show in Philadelphia.

But just because the idiots in your city decided to riot when the band didn't show up doesn't entitle them to a free concert.

That's like if you invited your grandmother to dinner, she didn't show up, you burned the house down, and then later demanded 4 years later that she come and pay for the damage.

If you were a "real fan" then you would stop acting like a 10-year old and stop wasting our time.

Matt, I'm with you! When we really want something, we have to fight for it!

But I didn't sign that petition...here's why: I think that a FREE SHOW in Philly is a little too much to ask! I meant, if philly were the only place that GN'R didn't show up, then ok, but there was SEVERAL dates cancelled!! So if they do a free concert in philly, then they will need to do free concerts in Vancouver, Washington, Greenville, Tampa, West Palm Beach, Lisbon...otherwise it wouldn't be fair with these other cities where GN'R didn't performed!

But anyway, I think it's really good that you want to make things right or whatever, I really admire that, but I just don't agree with the idea of a free philly concert because of that...so, good luck man! ok

Yeah, please..seriously, if this guy doesn't stop complaining, ban him please.

I was at the show too, but do you see me here ranting that I deserve a free show? Do you see me bitching because I spent $105 on three t-shirts, and about $150 for a hotel room? Shut up, get over it, and go to one of the New York shows, or as others have pointed out, its almost a guarantee that they'll play Philly or somewhere in the vicinity (Wilkes-Barre, perhaps) when they come back in the fall. You've waited four years, so I'd seriously hope you can wait a few more months.

I, on the other hand, plan on wearing my "I SURVIVED PHILADELPHIA" shirt to the NYC gig!  ok

Not to burst your bubble - but this thread has 63 responses right now and the petition has 20 signatures.

Valliant effort - but people aren't really feeling too bad right now for the folks in Philly

I do feel bad for the fans in Philly and I would love for you people to get a free show. I was going to sign your petition, but I changed my mind. See, the way you try to insult people and calling them selfish etc just rubs me the wrong way. It makes me feel as I'm being bullied into signing something and I don't like that. This board is a GNR board and well..... GNR fans just don't like being told what to do, do we?

Besides, do you think the real fans would like a free show anyway? Loads of people would show up (we all like freebies) and the real fans would probably be very annoyed with the other people attending the show. I think a nice reduction would be better, or a nice free T-shirt at a paid show.

? This analogy makes no sense, douche. And who the fuck forced you to read any of these posts to begin with?!? YOU waste your own time.

 MATT:
Screw you. BAN me for what? Because I won't quiet down and give up??? If I'm banned, then that's censorship.

And you SHOULD be pissed! People seem to have a short memory and are just prone taking what's given to them. Canceled show? "Man that bites but,oh well. Whattya gonna do?"? Undecided "Can't fight City Hall...."

Yeah, and I'm one of those who doesn't like being told what to do too. So,NO,I won't give this up yet. I don't care what anyone says or does. Sign it or don't. I'm not done yet. And I never used the word "selfish". Ever.

And YES,any "real" fan would take show any way they could get one, especially a FREE one!

And really, what non-fan would go near something like that anyway?!? Metallica's free show didn't bring out the soccer moms or business suits to see what all the clamor was about!!! Gimme a break.

? ?Thanks for the support ?( I think it was somewhere in there) but, those other cities didn't even come close to having a show. And Vancouver was the arena owner's fault. He canceled it prematurely.

I never said I wouldn't ever pay to see them again either. I just wanna see if I can pull this off.? If you're with me,Great!? ok?? If not,so be it.

But,I'm not gonna just wilt and go home cryin',because some people who I don't know and don't care about me or my idea, decide to trash it from here to Kingdom Come!!

? I don't give up easy.

Well, it's a valiant effort, & I give you mad props for hanging in there amongst all the bashing. I do disagree with you & other posted on Vancouver. Wasn't that the 1st show of the tour, & Axl was "on the plane"?? What bonehead would fly into the city hours before his first concert in nearly 10 years???

That's right, Axl.? I place the solely on Axl on that one. Unless, of course, I get drilled by angry Axl fans stating it's the airlines fault for running late, right?!!

no, it was done to help promote the spetrum gig, which was added last minute as an attempt to get into the guiness book of world records for having two sold out shows two nights in a row with the least distance between venues.

or something to that effect. i have the idea right, but the wording a little wrong.

Yea I think i remember MTV mentioning something about that.

plus, why the fuck should it be free, you got your money back right?

Oh really? "Ticketmaster retains the order processing fee, and any delivery charges associated with an order. These fees are non-refundable and cover various costs that Ticketmaster incurred as a result of this transaction."

Yeah like people really got their money back.    Roll Eyes
