dont damn me and bad apples  .does anybody have any idea what date they went into rehearsals so i can work out how long they will be rehearsing coz i just think 2 months isnt enough time to rehearse mostly new songs.but sayin that they could have been rehearsing their own parts for a while now

About two weeks ago I believe. 2 months is plenty of time. I'm in a band, and when we rehearse to get ready for a show, it usually only takes really 2 weeks to get tight, even with new songs.  So 2 months is plenty of time to get ready.

but what if you hadnt jammed with your band for about 3 - 4 years.would it still only take a couple of weeks.

Well, we have never gone 3 or 4 years without playing together. But we have gone 3 or 4 months without playing and it still took about 2 weeks to get the tightness back. I think that Axl's voice will take longer to get used to singing in a live setting again, because I am the singer and when I dont sing with the band for a while my voice gets really tired fast. But I think that once you have that connection with the people in the band, you know where everyone's weaknesses are, so it doesnt take that long to get back into the groove.

yeah,i understand what ye sayin its jus for the majic to happen amongst a band i just feel they need time together.but ive been thinking about it and all i can think of is that they have spent time together possibly a couple at a time and probebly have jammed in small sessions together.its just that everything they do is hidden from the outside world.

Yeah I wish they would actually communicate. But from Fortus' email, it sounds like they have all been rehearsing together, maybe minus Axl though since he's been in New York for God knows how long now.

I hope they are rehearsing and that this thing will actually happen.  I'm not counting on it though.  Too many things going on in the GNR camp right now that are negative.  The threads seem to be unravelling.

Well, Matt bumped into Axl in NY, so I guess he's still in NY. The rest of the band are rehearsing on the west coast, minus Axl.

How long would it take to band to rehearse the songs? I guess as they are all professional musicians it shouldn't take that long, so it will be hard to say whether they are jamming on the old or the new tunes. Besides, if they decided to play some more Illusion tunes, those would be 'new' songs for them as well. They hardly played any UYI songs in 2001/2002.
