Does anyone else find it odd that the exception of "better" all of the leaked tracks were named in the RS axl interview back in 2000? We even heard the title madagascar from Betsy when she told the gnronline board that Axl played it for her when she visited him. So that gives us three of the live tracks we got back in 2000 (CD, the blues, and madagascar) plus 3 ouf the 4 leaked demos.
Song after song combines the edgy hard rock force and pop smarts of vintage Guns N Roses with surprisingly modern and ambitious music textures. In addition to the album's almost grungy title track (Chinese Democracy), tentative song titles include ''Catcher in the Rye,'' ''I.R.S,'' ''The Blues'' and ''TWAT,'' which he says stands for ''there was a time.''

Maybe the Rolling Stone journalist got a copy of the demos and now leaked them?

I still think the songs we're leaked by Management. The signs all point to them.

leaked by the Management. It was a test. I think the feedback was overall very positive.

I semi-believe that too... at least, it's possible that Axl wanted them leaked. Dizzy's reaction on WMMR made me think he knew something about the leaks being released "purposefully" (yeah, I gotta get my Tap reference in there somewhere).

Axl did a interview with RS in 2000 that's how they know about the songs. You think if they had a leaked cd they would announce what they have 6 years before they leaked them (and even if that did happen GnRs Management would of went straight down on RS's ass 6 years ago)
My Theory:
The leaks were intentional to see what the responce was. If positive release part I this year and continue that way. If negative release the Greatest Hits II and review plans.

15 years, so CD has been recorded since before the Illusion Albums were released has it? It's been 12 years (1994) it started when Slash and Axl properly started trying to work together. It's been 7 years since we've had a solid lineup (not including Bucketheads departure). But even then 7 eyars is wat to long to wait. Anyways they probably tested the audioence now because Axl knows time is getting on, he isn't being funded by them anymore and is finally ready to release it. And they tested the public like I've already said to see what would go down better, new tracks or a GH2.

That is weird tho.... maybe managment wanted to leak what we know already exsists and a snippet of a new song "better" ... maybe those new songs arent as "new" as we think... IMO i think they are old demos that will not make the final CD....

I'll play along, to what cause? Test the waters? Doesn't realy matter does it? The songs rock, cd will be good. Axl knows it, doesn't need us to confirm if he has good songs I think.

The leaks were not originated by Axl or management... although someone in the "inner circle" might have screwed Axl over... ya never know.
