I think it'd be even cooler what you said happen, but they NEVER talk once to the audience....they just play song after song after song with almost ZERO stops in between.  No encore even, just straight into PC as the last song...lights dim on each member one by one till we have Axl in a jesus christ pose, center stage with his head up and eyes closed, arms extened to the left and right, taking deep breaths and the spot light slowly fades on him.....its pitch black..few minutes later the big lights go on and thats it...shows over..

my god, people would be talking about that for YEARS!

as for the 1 or 2 option...I'd seriously take option 1 IF they sounded amazing and we had boots striaght from the sound board and we heard ALL the songs from CD.

At this point, although I like the old GNR more, I want to see the new band and hear the new music, especially Better and TWAT. So not only do I think it won't happen, but I hope it does not until after some new music comes out and is played on tour. Then in 5 years they can reunite and play alll the original stuff again.

Any one disappointed with that is not a Guns N' Roses fan, they are a Guns & Roses fan.   I donno.... I'd still want to hear this record we've been waiting for.  I'd be pissed if it never came out, since it is "Axl's Baby" and we've been waiting for all these years. 

I'd still shit my pants if Guns N' Roses reunited and wouldn't cry at its consequences as long as one of those is not the destruction of chinese democracy.

I guess if I saw the original lineup on stage I would hold my breath and wait for Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jon Bonham, and Jimi Hendrix to join them on stage. Might as well since the original line up is as dead as Jim, Janis, Jon, and Jimi are! (Why are all the greats "J"s?)
I have to say I would absolutely love for at least Slash and Duff to join back with Axl. As much as I hate it, Slash has the GNR sound in his riffs and no other guitarists will give that to Axl. But, it is all a dream. They all have too much pride and too big of dicks to ever kiss and make up.
So, to boil it down...I'd take Axl anyway I could get him.?

I'll probably get shot... but I think I'd almost rather see the old band together (with or without Matt) than have CD. You just can't beat that kind of chemistry they had, and even if any new material isn't as good as what Axl has recorded.
