I think i just wanna buy the CD in my local music store and not download it somewhere...

Exactly! I'm thinking that's what the great majority in the board want.

That is exactly what my option promotes. You essentially get the download for free before the release date. The when it comes out you get the hard copy for the extra 4 bucks. Jeez, some of you guys are totally missing the premise of my initial post.

You can't leak proof anything. Its pointless.

If Chinese Democracy came out that way, the very next day I could use Limewire to download the whole thing.

I said leak free not theft free. I was suggesting this as an option to minimize the likelyhood of the cd being pulled off the pressing assembly line by a minimum wage employee and uploaded to the internet before the official release date. If it stays in the same hands it has until the day of release then all we will get are songs Axl hands out to people, like the few we have now.

Ah your right. 100% my misunderstanding. Sorry.

That would be awesome. Make it a nano so it would be affordable.

As an idea, you can do what Massive Attack just did. They announced the release of their new "Collected" CD of hits and unreleased music to come out next Tuesday (Monday in the U.K.). It's a 2CD set. If you go to HMV today though, it's there, but not the 2CD set, just the greatest hits portion of it (i.e., the first CD). The 2CD set release date was changed today from next Tuesday (or Monday in the U.K.) to this Thursday. How unorthodox is a Thursday release? Well, in the grande scheme of things, it doesn't really matter, cause who ever came up with Monday or Tuesday as a release? And, why would Axl need to follow that??? I wouldn't. Eminem didn't.... it really throws everyone off when you "announce" something, but then don't play by your own "rules".

Unfortunately Apple's store sells music with DRM crap (Digital Restrictions Management), so making it the only option of getting the new songs (at first) would be really annoying.
