This poster is from Bravado.

I'm pretty sure that if you check your posters (the ones who have this one) you'll find a 200x year on it. It could be 2004...

God people...

Some of you don't even stop to think a bit.

Do you have any idea what kind of resolution does a logo need to have in order to make these posters?

It's definitely official...

I would say it's definately NOT official

notice in the two examples given in this thread - the guns are in different places in relation to the star, as well as the "G&R".  These examples wer made by two different people.  I would think that there would be only one official logo, and that things like the placement of the guns etc. would be worked out.

Not to mention the logo is lame as hell.

Also, I don't think they would put both "Guns n' roses" and "G&R" both on the same logo

Ok, you got me.

It's all a big conspiracy.

GN'R are planning concerts but their too lame and asked from the promoters to design a logo. The best one would get the gig for 10.000 dollars less...

Well, you obviously don't seem to have any idea on how promoters and bands work for such big concerts, still you insist that you're right based on some milimetres from the logo, so I don't see any reason to talk seriously from now on...

Personally I think that logo looks gay... very old school... I dont know about the record company, but if i spent over 10 million making an album I'd want to spend more than $5 on the logo... heck, Axl could get robin to come up with something better than that.

 rofl

Thanks for the laugh.

But seriously...

It's a pretty cool logo...but for the love of God it could have been a little more original.

Robin is indeed a fanatastic artist, or Axl could take a piece of advice from Korn and have the fans design the album cover. Wink

At least you got that right...

I make money as a promoter (which is my second job, I'm also into the clothing industry), not from graphic designs...

And from my experience I can tell you that bands like GN'R, Metallica etc etc send their logos, promo stuff to promoters and they use that.

Even Adler's Appetite had a folder with promo stuff (pictures, logo, bio).

Some promoters don't know shit and use stuff they scan from albums, hell even t-shirts.

But the real professionals ask for official stuff from the management so they can blend it into the posters or any artwork they do.

And when you see the same logo and the same picture (of Axl in 2002) on promo posters or flyers or sites from more than 4-5 different countries (Download, Italy, Warsaw, Ireland, Nova Rock, Paris) and we're talking about serious promoters here, you know it's been sent from the band, and not made by the promoter.

If you still fail to understand this, I'm sorry but I can't help you...

I have that poster on my wall. Grin

The logo makes me sad b/c it makes me think about the old days and the old line up.  At least with the new one used in '01 and '02 it made me think about a new era and a fresh start.  I personally don't know if its official b/c we don't get told shit.
