Maybe it matters, it maybe it does'nt, but there are a few potentially big albums due out in the next few months. Chili Peppers have a double album coming soon, and Tool is putting out their first one in a few years. Do you guys think any of this goes into Axl's thinking as far as when to actually release the album?

No i dont think so.. there is always a big band releasing cd`s, and there is always battle between the releases... i think The GNR and Tool release wont crash that much

No, the new Tool album comes out May 2nd and there is no evidence that hints to Chinese Democracy being set for an April/May release.

No way. I heard on the radio today that 3 days crap album had been pushed back. The dj was saying the only reason the record company would do this is because a huge release was being planned and they wouldn't want a smaller band like 3 days crap to have to compete with it. Hopefully, it's Axl's album. Which makes sense to me. If I was in 3 days crap, I'd be pretty fucking concerned if my piece of crap sophomore album came out the same time as Axl's and my miserable little Canadian album had to compete with that. confused

3 days grace is what the hell I was referring to.

My younger brother used to be in that band when they were called Groundswell.

Before they decided to sell-out.

Do you know something we don't?

It may not make sense for GN'R to tour w/o an album, but nothing about GN'R makes sense.

If anything, he should release Chinese Democracy on a day when there are other major rock releases coming out.  It's not unreasonable to think that someone in there to buy the new Tool album will see CD on the shelf and decide to pick that one up too.

"before they decided to sell out"  ?  The dumbest words in the world! You mean when they decided to make money and make an album

Without a release date, it is impossible to argue that CD will interrupt the schedules of band who have a release date in mind.

I know a lot of people on this board seem to like tool....but, come on, I don't think an album released by them would hold up CD....These bands should be thinking about why they may not want to release the same time as one of the most anticipated albums of all time. IMO
