I recently bought a Marshall MG30DFX amp. It sucks very much, with the overdrive channel on. The clean is good. Anyone had or has this kind of setup, and can give me advice about it?

You're right. The amp just sucks. My friend had the same amp. A Gibson LP Classic just doesn't deserve to played through a Marshall MG30DFX. Get a new amp or a good distortion pedal.

I have that amp, I didnt mind it at the start because I was only a beginner. But ur right the distortion sounds crap. I bought myself a podxt live, I also bought a marshall jackhammer pedal, that should improve your sound..

Don't use the distortion and get a pedal. ?If you like medium distortion, get a Big Muff or a Ibanez TS9. ?If you're into heavy stuff go for something like a Metal Zone pedal. ?the Metal Zone has two different distortion frequencies. ?On is heavy, the other is insane heavy.

The tubescreamer is supposed to be used with tube amps. It will only add a little crunch on the MG since it is a solid-state amp. I recommend just getting a new amp. I suggest a Peavy Valveking, Fender Blues Junior, or an amp from the Vox Valvetronix series. The valvetronix amps are not tube but they are great for the money.

I've used one in my effects chain for years and i'm currently running on a Randall RH 200 solid state head.? i don't run it for my primary distortion (usually for a lead boost), but I do run it primary on a couple of songs and have gotten good tone.? It can still be used.
Slash on AFD ran very light distortion.? Thats what i'm referring to.

The peavey valveking is all you need. I can get any tone i want, whether it be heavy heavy crunch or Eddie van halen style, JCM800 sounding and of course Slash. Very smooth amp with a more gain button that is way worth it. My 212 was 600 dolalrs i dont know how muhc the 112 costs but its so worth it.

I've got the G30R CD which is basically the same without effects. I don't play with much distortion at all, and I can get a great Izzy/Stonesy type of sound out of it
Guitars I use are a Epiphone Les Paul Custom and Epiphone Wildkat (hollowbody)
