  A surprise guest appearance would be the best way to go about Ozzfest.  A guest vocal for a song or 2 with another band, just to feel out the situation.  If that crowd digs it, do a couple more, maybe with the whole band. 

  Of course, Axl would need to mesh with the other performers as well.  Support from the other artists would be key, and I think he could pull it off personally.  If he waltzes in there like a super-star not respecting the artists and organizers etc., then he'd have problems.  I think he's smart enough to realize this.

Looking at the way the Metallica tour is panning out, it looks like A7X are going to be following the 'Tallica boys.

I can almost garuntee that a "Slash" or "Velvet Revolver" chant will erupt at Ozzfest. Axl's band will be torn apart there... It's just a hunch I have.
Plus did VR get a great reception at Ozzfest last year even thought there not metal? Thats what I heard.

The UYI's killed any talk of being a metal band.  Come on, think about it, watching the Trilogy videos, you have to think that this isn't metal.  If they kept dropping a bunch of AFD style albums, then metalheads would LOVE Axl.  But look at the band Now...not very metallic
