People, feedback is a lot better now!! Smiley I told you: they need to listen to it for a few times before getting to like it. GN'R rules.

is that so ? or is it just the last three people who called?  Undecided

Feedback I have heard regarding TWAT was atrocious!  Let's see what happens.

I really don't think it's fair or ethical for the radio to play TWAT without stressing that it's an unfinished demo.  What I love about TWAT is the lyrics and the concept, but we're talking about a demo that was recorded years back that many people are mistaking for a finalized version of the song that will be on the album.  With IRS, even if it's a demo it still sounds pretty close to finished even if the mixing isn't that great

I gotta say the beginning of the song is bad but the last four minutes are unbelievable. I don't understand why people wouldn't like this song.   Sad

the dj just read an email saying that its an unfinished demo version, and she really stressed that part

Good ok

As long as that's made clear, it's fine.  I haven't been listening, but reading some of the listener's responses it seemed like they thought it was a finished version, such as the one where the person said whoever mixed the song must've been out for coffee

I agree. ?I think the beginning is average, but the end is unbelievable.

Also keep in mind there are many people out there who have made up their mind that the album will suck before they even heard a single song from it, people who will bash anything associated with Axl Rose.  It wouldn't matter if they released a song better than anything GnR had ever done before, the Axl haters would still say it's horrible

this is the email I sent over to the WAAF DJ which was talked about over the air at 5pm E.T.:

"Great song! One of the all-time classics.

Being a member of the Guns N' Roses fan forums as well as friends with
band member Dizzy Reed, I just have to say that "There was a Time" truly
puts on display what Axl and the guys still have to offer. Amazing guitar
licks, strong vocals & breathtaking lyrics about Axl's devotion to former
love Stephanie Seymour... really hits a cord.

-Dennis"

I agree 100%. A mediocre beginning ruins an otherwise great song. The last 4 minutes are awesome, but unlike superfans on this board, most people won't listen to it 30 times until they like the song. Alot of people give a song a minute or 2 in the car and flip the channel if they don't like the song.

If I only listened to the first 2 minutes and flipped I would think the song sucks too. Which is why I am hoping the song is seriously reworked before it hits an album.

Same goes for IRS for that matter, the first minute is wierd, and the rest of the song is pretty strong. If New GNR could find a way to beef up the intros people wouldn't have to listen to a song 10 times to like it as the last 4-5 minutes of the new songs have been pretty good.
