Matt+Duff working on new album (Matt's forum)

For those that don't check Matt's forum i thought that some people might want to hear this as it sounds cool to me.

I'm lookin forward to this album, Contrband sounded like they wanted to stray away from the Guns sound to prevent alienating Scott....I think we will hear more of what we loved in Guns on this record

Prince meets zepplin, was never a big fan of prince in general but he can play guitar very well.. I am just glad they are giving a play by play as they work.. nice to get the feel of what is going down.. It's a fan's dream, well at least mine to have the band share as they create..

Matt sounds very enthusiastic about it. I remember they mentioned one of Refused's albums as a favorite a couple of years ago, because of the drum work.

This sounds great. I had a feeling their second album would be amazing, and Matt's description makes me really anticipate this album. Even though I didn't like CB, I knew these guys could come up with something great. I think CB was rushed, and thats why it isn't as good as it could've been.



An observation: I've noticed that people completely ignore me in this section. I guess I've pissed off all the VR freaks who didn't like some of the things I said in the GNR section.

The Prince meets Zep thing is very intriguing. I've never heard anyone describe their material using those two as references. All these years of everyone saying how Axl was gonna break new ground with CD, it would be funny if VR ended up being the ones that did it.

Depends what kind of synth. Not all are cheesy. I would love to hear demos of some of the stuff their working on. Matt is a good songwriter i believe.

James, Paisan, I hear ya.  I agree with what you said, but I do like Contraband.   Eventhough I like it, I admit it was rushed and could have been much better.  However YGNR and Slither sound pretty good for the short amount of time.

slither to me is fucking awesome ,just the way the song starts of is great, the song is energy and rocks like a mofo..  I never get tired of cranking it in the car

Yeah, I really like that song also. The last time there was a family get together, all kinds of different music was being played. I put on CB and played Slither, and even my little cousins were digging it. The next time my whole family gets together like that, I'm gonna play all these new GNR demos and see the reaction.
