This is a Joke. Avril Lavignes and Pinks producer? This is this guys cred?

Dave Navarro Is Limelight hogging fuck. Come on Gilby, you were meant to stay out of the spotlight. I still like you. But seriously, you are above this crap.

Tommy Lee: "I love breaking the rules"

Nice you dipshit, since when did being a corporate whore mean that you were a rule breaker?

why shouldn't gilby take advantage of getting to do soemthing with exposure and have a blast.. I love the rules or rock n metal like you are only allowed to stay in teh dark

They received some coverage in some Finnish entertainment news. They were being referred to as consisting of members of Ex-GNR, Ex-Metallica and Ex-Cr?e - well I think at least Gilby was called by name also. It was amusing to see WTTJ - Live Era video playing during the news bit, with Axl and Slash running about the whole time. No wonder they made an issue about the Ex-GNR angle.

I'm so excited for Gilby!!! I just hope they don't get a fruit cake. I didn't like J.D. Fortune for INXS.... Oooh but I really liked Marty Casey and Mig Iesa... They should try out again... THey were the shit.

Here's a pic with Gilby from todays paper.? The article is about two local kids who are trying out for the show so I'm not gonna bother posting it.

METAL OF HONOR Gilby Clarke, Tommy Lee and Jason Newsted
? ? ?"This season, the goal is to find a singer for a new band, Supernova, featuring Tommy Lee of Motley Crue, Jason Newsted of Metallica and Gilby Clarke of Guns N' Roses.
? ? ?The show gets underway July 5, with the winner being crowned in late September."

Source:? NY Daily News >> Saturday, June 24, 2006
The article is by Richard Huff but I don't see any photographer credits.

I'm really interested to hear what music Gilby would come up that would mesh with a metal bass player like Jason Newsted. ok

From what I've heard from people who have seen Gilby live, is that he's quite a good lead guitarist, he just never showed  that side in GN'R because that was Slash's role. So I hope we get to hear some cool Gilby guitar playing at least.

i hope they dont pick a female, that would suck so much. Girls make horrible frontmen, o pun intended (if you can apply that saying)

« Reply #72 on: June 30, 2006, 06:11:36 PM »

okay ... so I don't have a real source to quote on this but this is what I heard on the radio today ...

There's this punk band in California that was started in 1989 who call themselves "Supernova" just like this Gilby band.? Well the punk Supernova filed a lawsuit or something against the tv station and whomever because they own/copyrighted the name and didn't give anyone permission to use it.? The guy on the radio said that CBS (the tv station) are shittin themselves because the Gilby Supernova show is supposed to start Wednesday July 5 and they have all this time and money and merchandise and whatever all set to go and now can't use!!!? The guy on the radio also said that these punk Supernova guys are like "pure punk" (my words, not theirs) and probably won't sell out for any amount of money!!!?

According to Wikipedia, the punk Supernova recorded the song "Chewbacca" for Kevin Smith's indie classic "Clerks." ?

Unless it hasn't been said, I seen a advert for this the other day. Tommy Lee was in the advert for the Supernova TV program, it's on Sky One and it starts next Sunday (UK/England), I Think

I think it will be more hard rock-Gilby is very "classic rock"-Jason seems pretty flexible on his side projects (see Echobrain)-Tommy's solo records are very pop-I think they will want  a very heavy record, though-gut feeling-Gilby will be interesting as lead guitarist

Its funny how Tv guide in Australia has an article on Supernova today, They report that Ex Motley crue drummer Tommy Lee, and Gilby Clarke of GnR are in the band, They report it as if Gilby is still in Gnr, Its funny, Shows what they know.
