To me, the name Guns N' Roses made a lot more sense when Tracii Guns and Axl Rose were together.? Band names are important and the band made it big with Axl, Slash, Duff, & co.? However, to be fair, Axl never left the band, the band left Axl.? Legally, he owns the name so it's obvious he'll use it.? The Guns N' Roses name will sell a hell of a lot more tickets and albums than the Axl Rose name.? But, I think Axl wants the public to know that this isn't the same band.? He changed the logo, look, and sound of the band.?
The band broke up... I agree traci was there first but when you are trying to make a band people come n go before you get the group right.... No one in their right mind is going to say traci was gnr, or gardner,... The band is the ones who make the first album... It is true axl never left the band, but the band broke up no matter hwo you want to look at it, wether it was egos, booze drugs or creative differences, it ended... There's no rule that says a break up has to happen all in one shot, that each member must walk out the same day... true this is a matter of opiniopn, and axl knows that a band called gnr is going to sell a hell of a lot more then something called axl rose n friends... GNR is the band you see inside of greatest hits... it's that simple to me... Many people feel it ended when izzy left..

To me, it all ended when Slash left. Slash and Axl were the unique sounds and sights of GNR.
I don't agree that Axl should use the name GNR for this new band, because it's not the band that became famous. But the truth be told, he's legally entitled to it and has had the name since he and Guns were together. It's definitely a matter of opinion if we think it's right or not, but he has the authority to do it, so there's not much we can do.
Maybe he'll rename the band Chinese Democracy and release a self-titled album.

just think of how bad it would have been if it wasn't called gnr
For something not promoted at all and to have no new material really out (except on my god) since 1991 I think it did rather well, just not enough for mistakes and profit.. NYC n Cali could sell out like nothing just seeing tha name

why would you ask this question, IRS, BETTER, TWAT, CHIN DEM are not piano oriented, and even MADAGASCAR does not SOUND LIKE PIANO , keyboards yes, piano no, - so that leaves CITR and THE BLUES,
why does 2 out of 7 songs make you think a whole record will be piano??
supid topic?

Well, I guess it was a toss between that or Axl's GN'R vs. Velvet Revolver.
Or Slash vs. Buckethead. Oh, wait...

oh my god , not this again.
on topic : my sources tell me there wont be any piano based songs on the 1st release , however the second album will be ALL piano with some scattered cello and flute solo's by richard fortus and an occiasonal "grunt and burp" by robin finck .. I am not sure if my source meant for me to take the "grunt and burp" quote literally or not.
This guy ranks up pretty high though so I dont really queston his statements or motives. Probably Mysteron could have merck confirm it or we can wait for sp1at to verify it.

I love Piano, listen to some old good 70's rock, there's a lot of piano in the mix. Have you ever heard the song "hold the line" by Toto? It's on radio KDST (GTA-San Andreas), it kicks ass, there's a lot of piano in the mix. Piano adds "something". It's kinda magic, it sounds class.
