They have to do Paradise City but unless they change the way they played it they should just drop it. It's one of my favourite GnR tunes but on the 2002 it sounded horrible.

well they have to play some of the Singles from orig GnR or the casual fans will riot peace

live and let die was good, maybe do that. still, i say like 75% new stuff, but they need the album out in order to do that otherwise nobody will no what the fuck is going on. on average, people like to sing the songs with the band or at least know where the song is heading

Will the casual fans riot? Huh

I must agree on that with you origin.
However it's Axl's singing style that didn't fit for the song.

Other AFD tunes played in 2002 were all fine.
Some of them sounded even better.

Yeah, keep that.

As for YCBM, it stinks in more ways than one.

Now, 2 songs of Guns I can drum to perfection are the intro intro to PC and You Ain't the First, but I'm telling you, I can drum YCBM better than Brain. What on earth is he doing on this song???

Is he trying to make it sound cool or something? no

Neither Finck nor Fortus can play thoses finger tapping parts of Buckethead. They will have to be changed live unless we get a new guitarist who can do it. John 5 could.... Brian May could... EVH could..>!

As could about 1,000 other shredder guitarists.   Not that Buckethead isn't great -- and I for one will definitely miss his live playing -- but there are a ton of musician's institute / L.A. rocker dudes that play that way.  I suspect we will see one of them emerge in the next couple of months . . . .   Wink

A couple of month ago I made a Richard Fortus Video medley, you can see it here:
http://downloads.thenewguns.com/RichardFortus-Guitarmedley-by-nesquick-hostedatthenewgunsdotcom.mpg
(thanks to thenewguns.com, especially to rainX)

Sorry for the difference of sound level, it's just the soundboards were different from each shows, anyway put the sound loud.
Hope you'll enjoy it. Smiley

I agree.  Somebody should have told Brain, "dude, you CAN'T play that intro."

Brain plays the intro fine, I heard them live and it was fine. The bootlegs leave out parts.

Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

Hey guys,

I remember reading a lot of comments on the third guitarist thread and others that people really think Fortus is an awesome guitarist... some even arguing that he should be the lead guitarist over Robin... Does anyone know some non-GN'R music out there available on cd where Fortus is playing? I'm having a hard time picking him out on the '02 bootlegs (he does have a solo during Rocket Queen right?) and the demos (if he's even on them). I'd like to check out some more of his playing for myself...

By the same token, can anyone recommend some cds with Robin Finck playing? I'm correct that he's not on the NIN studio albums right?

Many thanks.

And sorry mods if this is on the wrong board...

They are both extraordinary guitarists and extraordinary human beings.

Never doubt the Double F factor

I think "extraordinary human being" is a prerequisite to be in this band. Because no ordinary human being would put up with forcible silence, ten years of work with no result, and general insanity.

Grin I can understand someone saying they are extraordinary "guitarists", but "human beings"? GNR isn't exactly solving the national debt crisis . . . or funding the cure for cancer. I'm a fan, but even I have limits.

Mysteron - Do you know these guys personally? If you do, you might know something I don't.
