Ground control to Major Tom

« on: March 10, 2006, 05:22:25 PM »

In the second week of May RollingStone magazine will print issue 1000.? I think that they'll put Bob Dylan on the cover but with new GNR tour starting in May this would be a great opportunity for Axl to do an interview and tell us the release date of Chinese Democracy.

Or should he just bear his soul to Barbara Walters?

this is my crack head drunk take on this all.  Axl will get into the record books (his philly attempt failed) by selling the most albums with no publicity or promotion.  They will simply show up in stores on the normal morning delievry on TUES 3/28

that is a really bad theory. and if youve ever worked in a music store, youd also know that it is impossible.

in theory, GREAT idea.

But since Rolling Stone was journalistically neutered years ago, it's probably going to be an ad filled vanity/retrospective issue. Like, 'let's look back' at the articles and photos. Real wet-fart/burp vomit type of stuff.

I seriously think Axl would just issue a press release and maybe do some online announcement. Meaning like film a video statement, have some mixed media, and broadcast it on his own from a new website or distribute as is to media outlets like MTV, Fuse, MuchMusic, etc.. Why try to do an 'interview' with some media talking head? Axl would leash it up but good, wanting pre-approval on all content and such anyway.

Michael jackson is the story of a lifetime, pedophile, child start, king of pop fucked up family.. Plus he thinks he's still twelve

Well this months Classic Rock is advertising 'The return of Guns  N' Roses As they prepare to hit the UK, we take you inside GN'R' as the main feature in next month's edition, on Sale April 5. It'll probably be a mish mash of the recent stories, leak reviews and internet rumours, but still worth looking out for.
