,,Dit gaat W?ldrock sowieso bezoekers kosten'', zegt Kees Koudstaal, de eindverantwoordelijke man van metalfestival W?ldrock. Deze week hoorde hij, dat een dag na W?ldrock Guns N' Roses in Nijmegen optreedt. En juist vanwege Guns N' Roses is W?ldrock van 17 juni naar 1 juli, verplaatst.

Het weekeinde waar het Friese metalfestival gepland was, zou er ook een ?Fields of Rock' in het Goffertpark in Nijmegen komen, waar onder meer Guns N' Roses zou spelen. Daarom verschoof W?ldrock. Fields of Rock ging uiteindelijk niet door. Maar nu komt er toch een optreden van Guns N' Roses, een dag na W?ldrock. Koudstaal: ,,We kunnen nu natuurlijk niet meer terug naar 17 juni.''

"This will cause less visitors for Waldrock for sure" states Kees Koudstaal, de end resposible person of the Waldrock metalfestival. This week he heard that Guns N' Roses will perform in Nijmegen one day after his festival. And this while the festival was already rescheduled previously from June 17th to July 1st because of Guns N' Roses.

Waldrock was initially planned for the weekend of June 17th, but this weekend the Fields of Rock festival in Nijmegen had scheduled among others Guns N' Roses. For this reason Waldrock decided to move to July 2nd. The GN'R show at Fields of Rock was cancelled, but now Guns N' Roses has scheduled a show at July 2nd, one day after Waldrock. Koudstaal: "but of course we can't go back to June 17th anymore".



OK, that's what the newspaper states, take it for what it's worth. I was going to buy tickets for Graspop but a friend of mine told me to wait to go to the dutch show instead...

Can anyone like Mysteron confirm this?

It is a daily newspaper in the nothern part of The Netherlands. Very serious, not a gossip like newspaper at all. So quite reliable I think. Also they say to quote the end resposible preson of this festival. For your information Waldrock is a yearly festival, where among others Iron Maiden has performed in the prevous years.
I think it is strange this would come from such a source but OK, hope someone can clear up or confirm.

Yeah, more thenliekly they want to sort out all the dates first, then issue a statement. We seem to be hearing of new or rumoured shows every other day or so!

the organizers "suddenly" decided to do Fields of rock anyways...... in a rush.....They only organize the festival if they can get big names. They have been trying to get guns at Nijmegen... The Waldrock festival is rescedueled from 17 june to 1 july, cause guns might have played at 17 june.........but since the Austria date came across....they decided to get them on another date.........and that will be 2 july.........in nijmegen.....one day after Waldrock.........The waldrock organizers arent happy with that....cause they\d lose vistors.............

The organizer of Waldrock CONFIRMED that issue that article
