It's a bit cold here...

Edit by jarmo:

In October of 2005 Slash made an unannounced 5:30 AM visit to Axl Rose?s house. Not appearing to be under the influence

Well, after reading that sentence this whole story became very implausible.

So, when's the press release about the album coming?

Who cares about the legal shit?  Not me.  They (former GN'R bandmates) will likely be fighting until the end of time.  Old news!

When's the CD coming? ok

Donno but I guess as soon as the end of time comes, which is soon.

I care.
I do understand you cos I don't see you saying the typical media victims "he's this and that" bs.
Quote
For over 10 years Slash, a consummate press, photo and media opportunist and manipulator, has attacked Axl Rose on a number of levels. Slash's actions whether in or out of Gun's N' Roses have been a complete betrayal across the board of his alleged friendship and business relationship with Axl and the so called brotherhood and band loyalties that are supposed to have existed. Instead Slash has publicly attempted, by soliciting public and media support, to take credit for something that was not his or anyone else's to take, notwithstanding that Slash played a major part in the success of the band as Axl has continually acknowledged.

I'm happy that he finally speaks up Publicly.
Seeing as how even people here have the image of him (insane, genius, egoistical, fragile?.? look these up in this thread, handy) formed after the media coverage which is in most cases writers personal opinions based on hearsay knowledge (coming from who? Roll Eyes), I think we better listen to what the man himself says.

I guess he never wanted to be taken for somebody else either.

Or would you rather turn a deaf ear to his say like you have done to the people, eg his band mates or the average Joes that met him in person, who find him a man of good character or whatever doesn't agree with the myth?

'Slash is a buzzing Axls door bell' - The new leak due out next week? rofl

Slash: "Axl, it's me... open up, let me in... Duff is this, Scott is that and i hate Sorum..."
Axl: "its 5:30 in the morning... fuck off... go home... get some sleep... you ass"
Slash: "-"
Axl: "and get a hair cut... you're so stuck in the 80's..."
Slash: "well... well... you're no spring chicken your self... fucker"
 hihi

Axl's not one to judge others apperance lol  hihi
Although has anyone noticed that both Axl and Slash (especially slash) have gotten very buff?
Maybe they decided that there going to settle this on Celebirty boxing.

Funny how there's more GN'R in Velvet Revolver then there is in Guns N' Roses.

Again, whoever is helping the new band with PR/Marketing need's to look in the mirror.  If there is not a release date given within the next few day's, this may well go down as one of the worst press releases in rock history.  I agree with Axl's argument, but think the way it was delivered was lame.  This is just a sample, of what seems to be, a birrage of negative publicity beginning to descend upon the masses:

The War of the Guns N' Roses

March 7, 2006
Things are not going well for Axl Rose on the supposed eve of the release of Chinese Democracy. First, his meticulously guarded tracks were leaked onto the Internet, and now he's mired in yet another battle with former Guns N' Roses bandmates Slash and Duff McKagan.

Slash recently made public statements about Rose's upcoming GNR project, proclaiming his support of his former bandmate. Rose was not amused.

A statement released Monday (March 6) on behalf of Rose states that Slash's announcements of support for Rose are merely attempts to "garner publicity for himself." "Slash's actions in recent years have in fact been anything but supportive," the statement read, citing a series of lawsuits filed against Rose in the past decade.

"Slash's actions, whether in or out of Guns N' Roses have been a complete betrayal across the board of his alleged friendship and business relationship with Axl," the statement continued.

In August, Slash and McKagan filed their most recent suit against Rose claiming the former GNR frontman changed the publisher's name on songs collectively owned by the band.

That lawsuit was "based on a faulty premise from the start," according to Monday's statement. "What Hudson and McKagen attempted to portray as egregious misconduct by Axl was in fact -- as Slash and Duff have learned -- nothing more than a clerical error committed by ASCAP."

On Friday (March 3), Rose filed a counterclaim in Federal Court seeking to confirm "his ownership of his own creative works."

"Axl regrets having to spend time and energy on these distractions," Rose's attorney Howard Weitzman said in a statement, "but he has a responsibility to protect the Guns N' Roses legacy and expose the truth."

No word yet on how much Axl is seeking in damages.

If it was anyone other than Slash that was suing Axl and at the same time saying to the media how excited he is for his new album, everyone would be cheering their asses off for Axl to run his mouth off at them.

Slash is trying to look good by saying that he is supportive of Axl's new project.  How supportive can you be when you're suing him?  A simple "no comment" would do fine if the new GN'R is brought up in an interview.

I'm a fan of both bands, but I don't think Axl deserves to get shit on as bad as some of his "fans" on the board have been doing over the past few days.

Can we all give this a rest please? Roll Eyes

After all, whatever we say isn't gunna have any effect on what's happening, and to quote an old song, "whatever will be will be", and it ain't for us to see what's gunna happen in the future, immediate or distant.

Lets just wait and see yea? ok

Thats for Slash to know, isnt it?

Perhaps he reconcile filing legal action for what he feels is fair and supporting his old friends seperate future endeavors.

While youre questioning Slashs honesty, maybe you should question how Axl can "love the guy" thats suing him.  He "loves" the guy he calls a "negatively seductive" liar.  And he "loves" the guy enough to make these damaging, sensational public comments.  And he only spoke of his love for him a month-and-half ago, with no clarification as to what inspired him to change sentiments within that time.  Perhaps he too can reconcile the surface inconsistencies, but if youre going to imply Slashs disingeunousness, you should take a look at Axls comments as well.

No doubt Slash saying Chinese Democracy would be out in March put Axl under some unofficial deadline with fans. Im sure Axl didnt appreciate the attention. Slash just seems too cool in recent years just to bash Matt and Duff. Matt even left GNR defending Slash!

And those guys are like best friends for the past 10 years. Im pretty sure it didnt happen.

Even if put Axl under some pressure and put him on a "deadline", would it be that hard for Axl to just release a statement that says what Slash said wasn't true?

Slash said positive things about Axl yet is involved in no less than two fortune crippling lawsuits against him.

Allegations are just that, allegations, and are not true until proved ?otherwise. What we have here is both ?a legal issue and personal ?issues. Need to keep the two straight. I would not be surprised to see the legal ?issues ?thrown out. The personal issues are ?just gratuitous.

Sometimes they clash. I think many of the same personal issues are rearing their ugly head in these three filings.

As I said before, I hope the suits get thrown out and the three party old band partnership upheld.

I think Slash & Duff getting screwed out of their royalties has more to do with at least one of the lawsuits than any personal feelings. JMHO. And anyone who says why didn't they just call Axl & tell him about the mistake need to look no further than this recent press release. Why would anyone want to deal with him privately?

Actually, it has alot to do with personal animus. Axl and his lawyer pointed out that all it would have taken was a phone call from Slash and Duff's lawyer to Kobalt, the ASCAP collector, to straighten the mess out.   It seems, if Weitzman is telling the truth, that S&D jumped the gun and assumed that Uncle Axl was screwing with their royalties.

They didnt have to call Axl just the company that deals with their royalties but they did not even do that now did they? Its like you not getting your work paycheck one week and instead of asking  your manager why did you get your check, you sue the company. Yeah that makes a lot of sense.

Considering the past, I don't doubt that Axl has love for Slash... few people have been through what they've likely gone through. ?For example, I'm sure Axl wishes well for Slash to stay healthy and all of that... but as far as their relationship with regards to the band, that's rocky.

What I'm saying is everyone's getting on Axl's case for opening his mouth, when Slash (who is suing Axl at the moment) is opening his mouth about how Axl is sure to put out an outstanding album and how supportive he is. ?He is saying that to give off the impression that he is the nice innocent bystander of Axl's wrath in my opinion. ?I'm saying they're both on the same level, and if Axl wants to voice his opinion, I'm willing to listen.
