I don't always have the greatest impression of Merck, but I am sure the guy is doing what he is being paid to do. What else do you expect from him?

WAAF in Boston is claiming they have it now, as are other radio stations. Not just hte song, but a hard copy sent to them, and permission to play in the next few days/within next week. The album seems closer to a release.

Its a lie since I emailed the WAAF PD and was told there is no new gnr single yet.

His speech regarding the need, inside of the industry, to allow artists to grow as musicians; and that the current label model (talentless, beautiful, manipulated one-hit wonders) is self-destructive in the long run, was brilliant.  The guy knows his stuff, I just think he could use some help in helping his clients project image, marketing, and public relations.  I really get a feeling, though, that he is a brilliant historian of rock music, knows the right people in the game, and maintains solid relationships with his clients.   

We the fan's are suffering from the big labels move away from music, and towards Wall Street.  Merck comes from the old school, and that is a very good thing.

Why IRS a single though? It's good but not nearly as good as the other songs.

Actually IRS is the song best recived by the General public so ya... and in mind there right.

I agree, while I don't find IRS to be the best, it does seem to be the song closest to the old style rock. I think I.R.S. is the worst of the bunch, but a song like better isn't like other guns, and so might not be the best way to introduce the new band. Once the public gets used to Axl and Co. being back, then that may be the best time to show all the ways Axl's writing has evolved over all this time. Again, we really don't know, and this rumor looks to be totally false by many accounts, but that would be my logic behind I.R.S.
