Radio Stations have "official CD quality" IRS (Unconfirmed)

I have to back Nemus, let's stay on topic--please, name the station. ?I have expected GNR to drop these things with little or no warning, to avoid pre-release backlash, and there will be far more notiriety with a surprise single.

I believe you, but it's hard to believe that the song wasn't the leak.... Idk, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if anything comes of this.

im guessing they just cleaned up the demo.... Its not official the dj just thinks it is...

I want to make sure I understand what MAY be happening.

Some smaller radio stations are saying that they have the Studio release of IRS as GNR's first single. ?They are not supposed to play it until next week, when the offical release is supposed to be.

Now my thoughts:

Are singles like this normally sent to radio stations about a week before they are to be aired? ?I'm assuming yes. And I'm assuming the station could get into trouble if they played it before hand.

So, larger radio stations, who want to keep their good graces with the labels and such, would want to keep their knowledge of this new single a secret. ?I'm wondering if a small radio station out in Alaska may feel they could get away with playing this without anyone knowing. ?Of course, they underestimate the GNR fans I guess lol

Yes, and they sometimes even get it like 2 weeks in advance. In the UYI days, my local radio stations were playing it a week before it came out. darknemus probably knows more about this though. Maybe he can answer the question.
