People are calling the DJ's--"hey do you have the new GNR?" ?DJ, "yes!"

Well, sure they do, the demo leaks. ?People have to clarify, is it an "official, single or the demo leak?"

Set the record straight, I never heard it. .
Earlier in this thread you said you heard it.

Also, you claimed to be an "insider" a couple weeks ago.

I agree, I would imagine you heard the linked demo and it sounded better to you on the radio versus hearing it as a MP3 file online

It would sound worse on the radio than on your computer

maybe your computer... not mine... my home audio and reciever would blow away any computer speakers and an mp3 played with windows media or whater..

Bet....

Wrong, a mp3 made into a aiff or wav you lose a lot of quality. Its just like if you take a song off a cd make it an mp3 and turn it back into a aiff/wave its going to sound worst than the orginal cd version

Correct.

There is too much in the air:

I agree...seems like something is up in the GnR camp...better be before they start collecting social security.

I would just like to hear from an official source than some cheesy dj...

Right before he played it, the DJ said he could get in trouble for playing it, but he didn't really care.  My immediate thought was it would be the demo I've heard.  But, then he said it was the actual single from the record company.  And, it sounded pretty damn good...better than the demo.

another single poster who claims to have heard something that nobody else who spends hours on the GNR boards have heard.... get real dude..

No B.S. here...I heard it 1 hour ago on 106.5 KWHL.  The DJ is "Porno Brad"  Call if you don't believe me...907-349-9691

Your IP is from Alaska.

Oh my Choking Soul I don't believe because you started a false thread in the past.

I started a false thread?  I never have.  I'm totally new

I did not say you did bro. Read again.

Merck's answer says nothing except that the single isn't being officially released tomorrow.? Didn't the guy in Anchorage already say that he was supposed to wait a week to play it but got tired of waiting?

You really need to read both how questions are worded to Merck AND his responses.? He's very good at skirting around issues.

I'm not saying this story is in any way true, mind you - I'm simply saying that Merck's answers tend to always have some vagueness to them if you really look.? (Its usually more the questions posed to him than the actual answers he gives, credit given where its due)

If this single was legit there would be a press release before it.

Why IRS a single though? It's good but not nearly as good as the other songs.

I told Merck about the radio station in Anchorage that claims it received the IRS single from the label, and its claim it would start playing it tomorrow. So, I asked him if this means the single is being officially released tomorrow. He said no.

"No, it is bogus," he said.

*Sorry guys, but I thought we should find out the truth before that thread spanned 100 pages.

The radio?

Unless you have satellite radio which broadcasts audio at a higher bitrate than FM, you have no idea what you're talking about.

I agree with your assessment of Merck, he doesn't seem to ever fully explain anything, and shouldn't be considered the final word on this situation.

However, I personally think it's odd that IRS would be the first single. Sure, it's a good song, but I think it's almost universally accepted that "Better" is a much more radio friendly song. As much as I'd like this to be true, I can't really see it panning out.

EDIT: And that's only of what we've heard. Something I don't see people talking about is that the first single may very well be a song we've never heard of.

Your stero has NOTHING to do with how the song sounds. It has to do with the source of the song. You can have the best speakers in the world but if you play a crappy mp3 version of a song its not going to sound good.

and untill you learn about speakers, and home audio set up you have no idea what your talking about either... but im sure your computer speakers rock!
