Karolyi at WCCC in Hartford says they have gotten nothing.? And no word of anything that is on it's way, either.

Given Hartford is a pretty big radio market, and WCCC is a HUGE rock station here...IF this were true, I think they'd have it, or at least heard of something in the pipeline.

The verson of IRS we have all heard is not a master copy. its a demo. i think better is close to being the master recording that we will here on the CD. but i think the IRS single ( if its realy a single ) is a mastered copy. which would be a much better verson of the song. longer shorter. compleatly diffrent the same. we havent heard what axl has done with the song yet. but the demo was work in progress so lets not doubt the songs potential.

VRslash yes. I hear mysteron reported that the IRS leaked last april was an early rough demo.
the full one we got now is not much different from that one, or maybe just cleaner.

What's the usual way things are done with regards to single releases?

If and it's a big if there is any truth to this rumour would it just be the U.S. to get the single for now and then be released in other countries later or is it more likely to be a released on the same date everywhere worldwide? If it's the latter would it be worth calling some of the bigger radio stations in the U.K. for example?

If they were to have some form of single as well I would think it's fair to say a release is on it's way soon. ?

seems odd that with all of these stations claiming to have a single, i tuned into my home station 93.3 KZOZ last night, and they claimed the same thing.  At 9:30 (approx) they did, what they called, a "world premier" of the new IRS song from Guns.  I have been listening to the leaked track for a couple of weeks, and last night's "debut" seemed exactly the same.  Kind of weird. It will be interesting to hear what happens today.

Well, after playing WTTJ this morning, my local rock DJ said nothing of the sort.  His comment was something like: "Well, looks like Axl's gone into seclusion again.  First we heard that Chinese Democracy was coming out in March.  Now it does'nt look like that's happening.  Then there were a bunch of leaked songs.  Then people though Axl leaked the songs.  Then we though the record company leaked them.  Now it looks like neither did and we all have to wait forever again to hear this Chinese Democracy."

you know, i wake up....then i check htgth and there are two new 20 pages threads about citr, axl being at the oscars, axl doing interviews, official singles around, etc...........  that sucks, but it just shows how desperated we are to get news...   axl should just let the cat out of the bag

I was just reporting what my local-yokal DJ said this morning.  It doesn't bring any creadance to the fact that a bunch of people seem to think there's some single that all American radio stations have and are just waiting for the OK to play it.

But since you ask, I DO indeed think it will be a dead year...at least as far as CD is concerned.  We will get these overseas shows (which I think will be pretty dissapointing to the hardcore GNR fans) as a way to supplement the Axl income and MAYBE we'll get a song on a soundtrack.

I hope I'm wrong, I really do...but nothing has lead me to think otherwise.  Especially not "Axl being seen places".

WAAF (Boston) claims that they don not have an "official" CD Single, all they have is the leaked track.
 
WHJY (Providence, RI) played SCOM this morning, then followed up with a quick primer on the leaks (and a few jabs at the new lineup) then a description of the lawsuit. They then closed the segment by saying that Chinese Democracy should be available within a month or so. (No mention of a New Single)
