There are some good songs on Contraband.  But one thing GnR didn't do was put out half-assed albums, which is what Contraband is to me.

To me, if VR are going to put out half assed rock songs, then no, they aren't more GnR than the new GnR.  I'll take the original lineup over all, but I sure as fuck would take Axl's new lineup over VR's.

Just trying to make the connection that without Slash's (and the rest of the band's) drinking problems and without Axl being beat like a little bitch GN'R would be nothing.

you can take whatever lineup you prefer but contraband isnt a gnr record so who cares if its subpar, great or plain sucks. Its not ruining the GNR legacy.

amen. at least axl has the integrity to protect the gnr legacy and not sell it off to half-assed movies and commercial, and i'm glad he has taken his time with CD instead of shitting all over his own legacy like slash has.
