Who?

« on: March 06, 2006, 03:23:30 PM »

Anybody watch this TV Show?

Here's the plot outline:

When Sam and Dean Winchester were just little kids, their mom was killed by something "supernatural." Their father's life and their lives were never the same after that. After that incident, their father raised them to be warriors and started to take an interest in the "supernatural." 22 years later, Sam and Dean are grown up and one day their father goes on a hunt and disappears. Sam and Dean try to find him but all they find is their dad's book containing information about evil entities. Sam and Dean continue to search for their father and along their way they try to help anyone with a "supernatural" problem with the help of their dad's book.

I'll be the first to admit it's not at all complex.? The stories are interesting though every episode.? All different kinds of supernatural happenings make for entertaining, quirky stories.? Although it has a dark feel to it there are still plenty of humerous moments giving light relief.? On top of that there is a wonderful soundtrack.? AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Filter and plenty more rocks acts have been used in different episodes.? The show feels really fresh and not only do you have a different supernatural problem the brothers need to fix every episode you also have the on-going story to keep you intrigued.

Here are a few quotes:

Homeland Security Man: Boy, you are officially a suspect.
Dean Winchester: That makes sense, 'cause when the first victim went missing in '82, I was three.

Sam Winchester: When I told Dad I was scared of the thing in my closet, he gave me a .45.
Dean Winchester: What was he supposed to do?
Sam Winchester: I was *nine* years old. He was supposed to say, "Don't be afraid of the dark"!
Dean Winchester: "Don't be afraid of the dark'"? Are you kidding me? Of course you should be afraid of the dark. You know what's out there!

So who else watches it?

You had me, right up until you said that it wasn't complex.

Still, I'm interested, when is this thing on?

Well you watch WWE don't ya, now is that complex? Tongue

Speaking of good, slightly complex shows.  You watch Prison Break?  That's awesome to.

Still, I'm interested, when is this thing on?
It's on Sundays, ITV2 at like 9pm and repeated ITV1 at 11pm tonight so it's like nearly finished.

But if i remember correctly your a dude who likes to see something from the start (e.g. didn't you just buy 24 DVD boxsets without having seen it before?...)

Also your up-to-date with the Yankees when it comes to Lost (As am i....nearly...but for that one episode that you said happened like wednesday...)

So whatever you use download it from episode one, i'm upto episode 16 now....'tis class

If you use torrent sites you can get all the episodes here http://www.mininova.org/

That site also currently has Seasons 3 & 4 of Due South.

If you remember those are the seasons where a new guy played Ray Vecchio (Callum Keith Rennie)

And he guests in an episode of Supernatural.

I love these connections Grin

So go download it dude, it may not be science man but still have the faith man smoking

lol, I'll try to get in.

Hell yeah on the starting from the beggining (and aye with 24), I will never join something half way through.

To be honest, if something can be joined half way through (unless it's a comedy), then I consider it not worth watching anyway, you know?

I love plots that stretch not just through an entire season, but through a shows whole run.

If Supernatural is nearly finished, then I might just try and catch it on DVD.

The only reason that I was dissapointed when you said that it wasn't complex was because the complexity of the X files is what makes it one of the greatest TV shows ever. I was hoping that it was in the same vein.

Well you have the on going story......

....that carries throughout (Trying to find the demon that killed their mother....)

But they encoutner varies ones along the way.  And yes each story has mystery to it.

It's not complex in the sense of every story is complete within the episode, as in they don't drag them out?

You don't have 3 or 4 episodes of wondering about something, you get the answers within' say 40 minutes....

.....but there is still the on going question yet to be answered, anyway 16 episodes in it rocks.

Just download some, trust me Tongue

The 'Get In' was for my 2 Lost references Wink

Indeed.  I get the feeling the 5th Season will be the final.  I mean where can you go after a season of the Winchesters vs Lucifer (and those in Heaven they pissed off to)

Nice finale though, glad they killed Ruby I hadn't been keen since they changed the actress.

I have watched Supernatural since the beginning, and it has got better with each season. I enjoyed the season finale this week, and look forward to Season 5.

Another show I enjoyed was Moonlight. It's a shame it got axed.

I agree with both points! The finale was so good! I am glad that Sam and Dean are going to make up. My Mom and I both love Sam and Dean. We can't decide who's cuter. I also think Castiel is totally hot. Moonlight was a tru;y great show. i had really hoped that the CW would have picked it up when CBS dropped it. Another great show was FOREVER KNIGHT.

I think Castiel, vaguely, looks like a young Columbo. I think it's the coat  hihi

Moonlight was great. It's crazy, because it got 7 million viewers, yet it still got axed. I read they were planning on bringing werewolves into the second series, not sure on that. It would have played out like the Underworld series of movies, not original.

That totally sucked that they cancelled it. Mysteron, I know you are a guy, but who do you think is hotter. Sam, Dean or Castiel?

Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have admitted that they would be open to filming a sixth season of the cult drama.

Speculation had been growing that the CW show would finish following its fifth season next year, after creator Eric Kripke revealed that he had a definite five-year plan and contract with the network.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph at last weekend's Asylum 3 convention in Birmingham, Padalecki said: "Season four has had the best viewing figures we've ever seen.

"It just seems to be on an upward curve so the studio's really keen to see more...My best guess is that Supernatural will go beyond season five."

During a later question and answer session with fans, he added that he would only want to reprise the role of Sam Winchester "if there is still a story to tell" and "still something for me to bring to the show".

Ackles (Dean Winchester) added that both actors had six-year contracts with the network but warned that their willingness to return did not mean that the studio would definitely "carry it on for six seasons".
