Thought it might be relevant... maybe we'll see tour dates before RIR, as the rehearsals begin two months in advance.

I see this as very Good news.
So, how about Richards dates with Nena? Are they still together  hihi
They dont rehearsal for 2 months.. I guess they already know the songs
so lets hope they have some other GNR things to discuss  peace

gnronline seams more dead the back in 2002/2003.. atleast they could write " New and information on Chinese Democracy to come soon, stay tuned"  hihi

chris pittman is like a nipple. its there, we just don't know why.

That was really stupid...

A nipple, with the right use, can get you really horny...

Unless you meant the same thing about Pittman...  Shocked

You people obviously don't have any of the new Guns N' Roses songs to bash Pittman like that.

Or maybe they just don't know what the sound of a guitar, a keyboard, a synthe etc is like.

You only get horny from adult movies?

Have you heard the term "sex" in real life?

You should try it, it's better than porn.

Yeah, true.
There is alot of Pitman in the new tracks.. and he plays an important part of them
I guess he will be heard more easily in the Final cd versions.
If u listen with headphones u will be able to hear it better...

axl needs to get his ass to rehearsal this time.... he's always been so slack before.

They'd had better get it together this time. I mean they were decent last time around, just starting to really get into their element around MSG. THis time they'd had better be spectatular or they will really get a bashing in the press.

They can't just be decent. They have to rise up to the standard of the old gnr show.... they need to be flawless.

I think you need to check the show at Leeds, UK. 4 months before MSG.

They were at their element there...

i have seen leeds... as well as most of the north america shows on dvd AND completely inconsistent. Flub ups everywhere. Have the time axl speaks he's mumbling and you can't understand a think he says, and he stage presence is completely contrived. And then there are moments where everything clicks and the unit is on fire.

If axl wants to reclaim his throne as one of the best bands in the world. Showing up for every rehearsal, sound check, and getting is head together is of the essence.

I mean he is the leader... if he is putting in a half assed effort it is going to influence the rest of the band's morale as well.

NOt showing up for practise is not a way to build band unity or cohesivness at all. Bring your A game captain A

Firstly, how can you 'contrive' stage presence? Secondly, perhaps you can't hear Axl speak because you are watching bootlegs, which do not have optimum sound

I think Axl will show up for these rehearsals, at least the beginning. So much is on the line with this tour and release; the band has to be in sync and solid. I would imagine that the band has forgotten how to play most of the new tracks: alot of work but a very exciting time for them.

Personally, I am excited for Finck, Stinson and Reed. Finck will be able to display his guitar writing talents, Tommy will get his return to the big stage, and Diz has been loyal, patient, and deserving of a second taste of the big time.

easy he looks like he is going through the motions. he does a half ass snake dance.... runs back and forth but looks completely bored and uninterested. The reason I brought up his speaking is because back in the old gnr days he had some energy in his voice, enthusiasm. He commanded the crowds attention. On the last tour he just mumbled alot of the time, didn't command any attention whatsoever.

Axl's got to step it up a notch. because if he doesn't the rest of the band won't either.

I think the band will have tons of enery when they are playing the songs they wrote together. Axl always sang and the band always played the new songs the  best because they wrote the songs.

Axl and the orgial gnr were always hit or miss, they would play some amazing shows then suck the next night. This happening with the new band is nothing new for guns n roses.

ya but if GNR want to rise about or at least match the legacy they can't afford to have off nights. The old gnr could get away with lackluster performances, the new GNR has to be on their best all the time as they don't get blasted in the media as a 'traveling circus gnr coverband'... otherwise axl will crawl back into a hole for 5 years

I want you all to compare so you get my point

axl in like 92
http://youtube.com/watch?v=849rTOsttxI&search=Guns%20n%20roses

to axl in 02
http://youtube.com/watch?v=3OF_6GOxJmg&search=Guns%20n%20roses

Now in 92 I still believe axl. He sings likes he is a man enraged. He goes back to the place in his mind when in wrote jungle. (keep in mind he is now  a millionaire and doesn't live on the streets... but can convey it)

Now go to 2002. WHile he goes through the axl motions.... I just don't feel like he wants to be there. He is performing... he isn't being.

If axl wants to continue where he left off... he is going to need to mentally prepare himself for this tour... he needs to feel and be it... not fake it.

That means going to rehearshals and soundcheck.... bonding with the band..... And leading the group in performance. IF Axl can bring his best.... the band will follow

otherwise.... lackluster and 'gnr coverband' will read the headlines

To me, it's pretty obvious that Axl simply isn't as interested in the old material.  He does it for the fans that come to the shows (and from a business perspective, to make sure fans still attend the shows).  The energy for the new songs is as magnetic as he's ever been.  Makes sense..He's more interested in where the band is going, as opposed to where it's been

So you are comparing a music video that is produced, shot over and over again, to a live performance?

Not a very good analogy if you ask me.

Not to mention I think his 2002 shows were some of his best to date. (That is all relative however)
