It was quite cryptic that Axl didn't just say the CD will be out this year, just 'people will hear the music' this year.
I don't think he was referring to the leaked demos, possibly that we'll hear the first single or a soundtrack song. 'The music' seems to indicate an album to me though.

No... when he said that people would hear music, he had to mean more than just us people who are devoted like this. I'm sure that he meant more than just the hardcore fans who download the newest leaks.

I think he meant that the album would be released this year, but didn't just say that the album would be released because then if something happened that prevented it from being released it would look like he lied. Saying it the way that he did gave him an out if the album ends up not being released this year.

He obviously knew that some commitments for performances would be forthcoming. That is what he meant. CD
will be previewed at the shows.

Maybe he didnt want to say 'Chinese Democracy' because its not called that now...

When that quote came out, I thought it was extremely interesting. He was being cryptic, maybe in an effort to cover himself if things didn't work out right? Dunno, I don't know the man.
Anyway, when I heard that, I assumed a single, or a movie track or something like that. He didn't imply that anything BIG was gonna happen, only that there would be music.
Then again, I was one of the riddlers for a while, so I may read into things too much

Its ok , Axl does set himself up for speculation when he makes remarks like he does.

I would think with a statement like that..he was referring to the CD...let's hope. As I have mentioned in other threads and be saying for years..I hate all the cryptic statements and secrecy..I mean it's cool that Axl wants to keep his business under wraps but if the CD is to be released this year....why not just officially say it?

It would be embarassing if they tour without a release date for CD

I agree with you Duga. If they tour and play festivals this summer it would be a bad idea to do it without the release of CD. I seriously hope CD will be out before then. Hm, still waiting for an official statement..... any day now!

I don't like to get people's hopes up more than the next man but...
Axl starts appearing in public and playing songs off CD left, right, and centre, to anyone who'll listen...
You've gotta think he's pretty much finished, and that's what he meant.

To DTJ- If they just say it's not coming out, people will stop talking about it for a whole year, this way people talk about it and keep Chinese Democracy out there and speculate. It's bad for publicity.
