Slash not going back to GNR - confirmed
«
on:
March 03, 2006, 06:51:42 AM »
Some dude at mygnr post this:
From VR website:
No one is leaving or joining VR. The band's management says that the recent rumours that Slash is joining Axl Rose in GNR, and that Dave Navarro will join VR are false. On a distantly related note (another rumour), RCA does not have plans to release VR's next album in June. The album has not even been recorded, so there's no promotional and release path planned at this time.

Wonder why took so long to make this statement. I don't think it was good for the band.

Oh well they don't have to make a statement about every rumour. Hell look at GN'R, we'd see thousands of statements each year, and a lot of the rumours weren't good for the band.
Well sounds like CD would be with us before the 2nd VR album, whoever thought that would be a chance

I wanted to
believe
, but I could only ever see him rejoining in Robin's place not Buckethead's. There was never any chance of an Axl/Slash reunion until CD is long out of the way.

What I don't understand is why anyone believes anything, no matter who's mouth is supposedly came from.
If you look at the Chinese Democracy page on this website, Jarmo has something weird posted about "Oh My God."
"According to Axl, Robin plays on the track. According to Robin himself, he doesn't."
And remember when Pink Floyd's management supposedly said "No, Pink Floyd will not be reuniting with Roger Waters for Live 8." But then guess what happened?
I'd say that until you don't see Slash on stage with Axl at one of the upcoming concerts, then the rumor still has the possibility of being true, judging that it was started by a trusted poster, right? Of course, until things are absolutely confirmed, it should be treated as just what it is: a rumor.

Also I hope CD comes out soon so it pushes Scott and Slash to put 110% into their next album. No disrespect to those guys at all... I know they can make a kick ass 2nd album.

We now have a record for the most times a rumor was proven false
Anyone think that Navarro coming back is a possibility? What were the circumstances of him leaving?
I seem to think they were good.
Just a question, I'm not trying to start a rumor

I should imagine Slash (and the rest of VR) have heard the leaked tracks and maybe think the direction Rose has taken GnR is not the right direction for them. Maybe VR's 2nd album will be more Gn'R than the new Gn'R
