How cool/funny would it be if Axl did this looking for a new guitarist.  People think Simon Cowell is edgy and mean.....Axl would be a quote machine.

More emphasis on the "funny" part....

Personally, I think it would be phenomenal.  Axl sitting there, drinking from his gold-plated, diamond encrusted wine goblet, shattering hopes and dreams with a wave of his hand..Hell, come to think of it, he does this to his fanbase on a daily basis. hihi

?? Rockstar N?Roses was cancelled after just three shows last week, after rock superstar and only judge Axl Rose failed to show up for any of the episodes.

When interview, Axl denied knowing he had a TV show.?? hihi

Bad idea. Don't give critics a chance to slur Axl anymore than they have already.

I'd lose all respect for the man and the band.  A couple guest appearances on shitty shows like this wouldn't be bad for exposure, but regular appearances would be assinine.
Just my opinion.   beer

Got the goods to be a 'Rock Star'?

Cox's Pub to host auditions for CBS reality show

By Tim Brouk

You may be sitting next to the world's next big Rock Star.

CBS has tapped Lafayette's own Cox's Pub to serve as one of 16 national audition sites for the upcoming return of the Rock Star reality television series. The show served as a screening process for finding the replacement vocalist for Australian pop band INXS in 2005.

Cameras from CBS will be taping at 6 p.m. March 19 at the bar located at 2401 Schuyler Ave. Pub owner Eric Cox will choose 26 finalists from four preliminary rounds, which will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, March 9, 13 and 16. Six "wild card" slots will be held open for walk-ins.

"This is probably the biggest thing to ever happen to this bar," Cox said. "We're really pumped about it."

Other audition sites include bars in San Francisco, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

Cox said CBS will announce what band will take the next new Rock Star next week. The series will air this summer.

The northside bar was tapped due to its Thursday night "live band" karaoke. Singers request songs and band Rockerbox plays live while the guest wails on lead vocals. Cox said Thursdays have been hopping at the bar, and the live band has been drawing a different crowd as singers who don't like karaoke can fulfill their live rock 'n' roll fantasies on a stage.

"We're the only bar in the state of Indiana to have live band karaoke," Cox said.

Mark Slone, director of a group of local musicians, promoters and supporters called Lafayette Music League, believes the Rock Star tryouts will pull a lot of singers from all over Indiana. Slone has seen dozens of local rock bands in the last few years, and he said some of the talent that has graced Lafayette stages could score well in the reality show.

"There are some singers in this area who have stage presence to get the crowd into it and who can really sing," Slone added.
Slone was a viewer of the first Rock Star season.

"It definitely had an original vibe, more than American Idol," Slone said. "The people on Rock Star seemed more genuine and had more experience performing live, not just in karaoke.

"I wonder how Lafayette's going to do."
