I think they will play new songs this time:

Guns n? Roses was the most requested band by the official site users, amongst all bands, by all fans, whether Portuguese or international. It is expected that many international fans will travel to Lisbon to be there to hear the material on the new album ?Chinese Democracy? for the first time live.

-----------

GUNS N' ROSES are expected to showcase new songs from their long-awaited "Chinese Democracy" album, which has been over ten years in the making.

(I know this is not the original source of the Download press-release, but they said the exact same thing)

I dont think they wouldnt play mostly new songs. If its only the old stuff I'd be very dissapointed.

A little Twat, a little Prostitute... Is that asking too much??crying crying

Now, now; it's not all that hard to get a prostitute and a little TWAT if you want it that bad, is it?

I'd like a bunch of new tracks if they go on their own tour. As for the festivals, don't get your hopes up if you want a bunch as well.

Huh

....they're finished.

after '02, if he tries to pull a tour out of his ass using Appetite, illusions and some "new" songs that are 4-5 years old, he/ they're finished. plain and simple.

Well its simple. GNR need to be playing at least the radio single which needs to be getting airplay before hand.  The general public at these festivals will probably just be laughing their ass off if the bands got nothing to promote.

I'm not seeing him live and even if I was I'd want to hear new music.  Don't get me wrong, I love the old stuff.  It's timeless.  But it's time to move forward and from what we've heard so far I don't see how I could be disappointed.

Thank you all for your replies, I think they'll def play new songs but not all. They'll save the best part (to me there is not best in the new material, ALL is best) for when they launch the cd. In other hand i'd like to see and hear Axl and the new band playing old songs, it'll be interesting to hear how they sound Wink

I agree Speed, we all hope they play new songs from CD....however, anyone with a chance to see Axl live should..just one of those nights you never forget, regardless of set list.

Re: What if they dont play new songs on coming concerts?

They will be the most overpriced COVER BAND in the history of rock music hihi

Personally, as Axl and his fans have constantly reminded people that this is a new band, not to be compared with the other, unless it's a favorable comparison bashing former members; I would like to see Axl and his band play only his new material, maybe a few "covers" that he was instrumental in writing, and establish the new guns N Roses on the strength of HIS new material, just as the former memebers did with their band

But, for some reason I doubt he will.

It's like this, if they're smart they will play the new songs.... simple as that.

No other way around it.
