Exactly. The same mistake won't be made. I do believe there will be more festivals and gigs before the album as a warm up and hopefully promotional for the album but then after at least a single a tour proper will start.

I think the album is nearly done, or ready to be mixed, or being mixed.  Slash certainly knows something.  He either guessed, since he knows it's nearly done, that it would be in March or April, or was trying to jab Axl a little, by raising expectations for an early release, when he knew it was dropping this summer or fall.  We'll see, but all indications are this baby is in it's final production stages!  There are too many signs this time around, that are all coinciding with each other timing wise.  One thing is for certain, they are keeping this project under tight wraps, as people in a position to know something tangible, have no clue.  It's killing them!!

Axl will be offically a big dumb ass
gotta love a good argument. nervous
i don't mind if they tour without the record at all, i want the timing to be right.
cd will come when it's ready, for now, just be happy to see guns live again, 6 years ago no one would even imagine we could.

there was more to my post than you quoted...

But basically he tried to tour without an album once and got bashed... did you know one definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and over and expect a different result...

if axl steps on stage without at least a release date he is really begging to be a failure. I love the dude but it is time to shit or get off the pot

There was a new logo in 2002. Didn't mean a damn thing. Maybe Chinese Democracy isn't really an album,  its just periodic releases of logos. nervous

There were rumors that the band has reassembled. Discussions, finishing touches, and rehearsals.....

I hope they release some kind of "image", like a band logo or something, so we know how to make our festival banners  peace

"But basically he tried to tour without an album once and got bashed... did you know one definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and over and expect a different result..."

Did he get bashed because he didn't have an album out or because he exhibited the same ego-erratic behavior for his opening gig...definitely gave out some insanity vibes for anyone who was on the fence about spending their hard earned money to check out the new band... Huh

one can only pray that he will have material out but he thought he was the "sh*t" when he came out last time (2002)...and that was how many years after...

he got bashed because after all those years of waiting he came back and played appetite with a bunch of circus freaks.... if he is trying to reinvent GNR not releasing a new album is career suicide

So, what I think about it :
Axl says that " we will her music this year " , to create a big buzz, he may have put some songs to create a mega big buzz, he announce some shows without talking of an album release , so I think that he probably will do an official announcement about CD for his first and Big show , the Rock in rio one.
I think that he'll talk about it during the show. In fact is there any better place than the Rock in R show to do an announcement  everybody will hear . I don't think so ...
So in my opinion , CD probably will be out this year , but not until September October, maybe the end of the year . I think it would be a double album like the UYI. " 26 of 32 are nearly done" , a double album of 16 tracks in my opion.

All the festivals are doing is hinting at 2002 for me.

I'm not even sold on the fact that they will even be at these festivals Undecided

Agreed, the festivals have been doing the confriming, not the band.......

special /self interest wouldn't have anything to do with it?Huh Huh
