In fact everything points to it being unlikely to ever happen. Geffen and Interscope are both currently unaware if there will be an album release and if there was who would release it.

Lets face facts, it ain't coming anytime soon. All the festivals are doing is hinting at 2002 for me.

That thought has crossed my mind, as well.  I damn sure wouldn't be shelling out the big bucks for tickets, hotel reservations and airfare with no official word from the band.  Don't forget the last time GNR was supposed to play RIR.

I doubt they will tour without it, or like someone else added to the conversation: he might announce a date at a concert. That might work.... On the other hand, Axl isn't touring for shits and giggles so I can assume he and his managements-employee's have a full-battle-plan ready in due time.

Just to be clear everyone. Do you consider a tour the 4 potential appearances at these festivals? I don't, They are one off gigs to me, with far less risk, because they would be one of many bands. So if they don't make it, many fans won't mind. (as compared to their own tour.

Of course they will - they are already booked to play live for the first time in years. Album or not  A handful of festivals isnt really enough for that to be an issue regarding fans going to see GnR.

we don't know yet if they aren't still booking dates or do have more dates wrapped in presents. So it's too early to judge. I think Axl and gang does have a gameplan. I like to add that I would love to see everything happen in the next couple of months. Press Release, battle-plan beeing published. Possible album release. It's really hard to speculate on this all.

Exactly. The same mistake won't be made. I do believe there will be more festivals and gigs before the album as a warm up and hopefully promotional for the album but then after at least a single a tour proper will start.

Not really theyll do shows though, Didnt turn out that great last time they toures with no album

i don't mind if they tour without the record at all, i want the timing to be right.
cd will come when it's ready, for now, just be happy to see guns live again, 6 years ago no one would even imagine we could.

Things are definitely looking more positive than they were in '02. All we got then was a crap article on GNRonline.com and a few Asian/European dates, the VMA's, then a half a tour. Now we got Axl out and about all over the place, songs leaking like crazy, radio stations playing these songs, buzz. It's lookin' good. While I'm not sure that we'll have the album before the first known show (RIR), I think we'll have it before the end of this "tour". They will not repeat '02. They won't...
