NO FUCKIN NO! NOT 2007!? ?CHINESE HAS TO BE RELEASED THIS FUCKIN YEAR GODAMIT!! rant

 Huh

Haven't you heard? Axl's been waiting for this film to be made and released for years now. Ever since he met Dan Brown in 1993 and they discussed a great idea for a book Dan had. If the film doesnt come out, the album doesnt come out. The album is really just a complimentary good to the book/film.

Some people go over the top sometimes without really thinking

The 'Da Vinci Code' thing may hit a very big snag:- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4754308.stm

On the BBC news tonight it mentioned the possibility of the book being removed from stores and even the film being prevented from ever being seen.

I'm not terribly familiar with the British legal system (or law in general, for that matter), but I don't see anything much being held up by that law suit, people borrow central themes and ideas all the time.  Seems like a frivilous lawsuit aimed at someone with deep pockets if you ask me.

I'm not sure about that. The two books at the centre of the argument are published by the same company, who are apparently a bit hacked off, but a representative of the publishing company did admit that this could have very serious repercussions.

I agree with what you are saying about borrowing central themes, but the authors of the original book are claiming that Da Brown has lifted such large chunks of their book...

Any updates on the Davinci Code rumors. The movie and the soundtrack are quickly approaching their release dates. Does anyone think that the first single could be included in the movie/ soundtrack. It really makes sense- I think Axl probably did try really hard to get a song on this movie since he is really interested in novels  and religious imagery and the time line is perfect as his New York shows will be less than a week before the release of the movie.  I tried to look for some information on the soundtrack listings to see exactly what type of cd it will be but it isn't listed yet. Anyone have an idea??

"Hollywood shit"...? I guess like Chinese Democracy, we should experience it before judging.
"MTV garbage"...? What has MTV got to do with The Da Vinci Code...?
"Media Circus"...? A great way of promoting the new music, Axl would be stupid to pass on the chance.

Actually, this film should be pretty good.
It has a great director (Howard) and some great actors (Hanks, Tautou) and the book is written like a great thriller-movie.

Not that anyone really needs official comfirmation at this point, but Guns will not be featured on the soundtrack.

Smiley

I hate to break it to ya, but....it's not the official soundtrack of the movie.

It's just an album "inspired" by the book.

Yes, THAT is the soundtrack (The Da Vinci Project is not).

I don't see a track listing there, though (I could be missing it).  If you mean the fact it lists just the composer, and no other artists, I'd say I think you're on to something.

I did see one on another web site, awhile back...and it was all classical Zimmer tracks.  Nothing remotely GnR related.

But, now that I'm thinking back...the official Terminator 2 soundtrack didn't have YCBM on it, either. It was all instrumentals from the movie.... I think it may have just been released as a T2 Soundtrack Single, but I'm not sure.
