Here Today...

« on: February 24, 2006, 12:58:56 AM »

I've managed to hold off on listening to any of the leaked songs so far because I don't want to ruin the experience of listening to them when CD comes out, but I told myself last weekend that I would wait till the end of this week to see if we got a press release about a release date and if nothing came I would listen to one of the songs.

So since tomorrow is Friday and it doesn't look like we will be getting a press release, what song should I listen to tomorrow night? If you had to choose one, which one would it be?

IMO 'There Was A Time' is the best.  It's the most emotional of the three and a true epic at that.  Axl's vocals are on the spot and the guitar work is remanisent(sp!?) of Slash's... IMO this song could be a big radio hit.  This song is one of the reasons we love Guns n' Roses so much. Cheesy

Plus at 6:43 it's the longest song and you'll hear the most new material. Wink

If you want something that is experimental then Better

IMO 'There Was A Time' is the best.? It's the most emotional of the three and a true epic at that.? Axl's vocals are on the spot and the guitar work is remanisent(sp!?) of Slash's... IMO this song could be a big radio hit.? This song is one of the reasons we love Guns n' Roses so much. Cheesy

Plus at 6:43 it's the longest song and you'll hear the most new material. Wink

that would be my reasoning too Smiley

IMO, the sound quality on better is the best out of the 3. ?IRS sounds older than the others.

Once there was this rock n roll band rollin' on the streets. Time went by and it became a joke. They just needed more and more fulfilling,uh huh. Time went by, it all went up in smoke.....

IRS is nothing like NIN.

IRS is something old gnr would do

IRS is very nin like, one of my friends heard it on WAAF and told me the new gnr song sounds like nine inch nails.

wow, IRS sounds nothing like Nine Inch Nails.. whoever said that has obviously never heard NIN.

IRS sounds like a modern version of an older Gn'R song.

IRS is nothing like NIN. Give me 3 NIN songs that are even close to sounding like IRS. Better is the only song that even has parts that you could say are NIN influenced. That's still a stretch.

Ax - Listen to TWAT.

1. Better
2. TWAT
(almost a tie here)
IRS is not that great. I wouldn't even say old GNR worthy, more like Slash's Snakepit or weak Velvet Revolver

I'd recommend TWAT.  The lyrics and vocal melodies are awesome, the music needs better mixing but the solos especially the outro are great

Dont listen to either bro.. let the experence be yours.

... but... if you do listen to one thing.. listen to Better.

Better is the best example of a NEW sound from GN'R.

TWAT is great too

If you are going to give in you might as well listen to all three. That being said, Better is by far the best so I'd suggest you listen to that one.

PLEASE, do not insult IRS by saying it's something like Slash's Snakepit.
