I have always loved his playing, I know Finck is underrated on the boards, has anyone changed  their opinions on Queeny?

My opinion went up on all 3 guitarists. It's always better to hear people in the context of songs they've contributed to instead of playing on someone else's stuff.

No.I've always felt robin could do great things in the studio.

But on the other hand it's hard to tell what robin is playing on these demo's , I mean the faster stuff is obviously bucket , but who knows how much of the slower stuff and ryhthm is bucket also?

Everyone is just assuming that bucket is doing fast stuff and robin is doing slow stuff.  Roll Eyes

My opinion did indeed go up for Robin. His work throughout on better is mind blowing, That constant riff and the little solo at the end. Kiss magnifique Grin

I don't think Fortus is on these tracks is he? I assumed that they were recorded before he was in the band. Of course We don't know for sure though

No.
I always did think he would be better playing his own material with Guns. That hasn't changed yet either. Not much of a fan of what he does on the old material though.
I hope he shows the world what he can do on songs he helped write.

It's hard to tell who does what, except on the instantly identifiable Buckethead stuff.  I think Robin's a quality player, I really dig the solo he did for The Blues

Finck- i've always liked the dude, he's a cool dude, but only now am I really appreciating him ?ok what he can do!
new songs all around the board are fucking brilliant, and he was a contribution to that, regardless of what we can or can't decipher, and analyse whose guitar work is whose.  though all the guitar work I've heard is fucking excellent!

The first version of twat is from 1999. It doesnt even have fortus on it. You can tell its robin. Just listen to robins outro on the short version, then BH doing it extended on the longer one, its different.

Personally I think he is mediocre.

there are musicians on this board better than Finck in my opinion

Nothin personal against Finck but his playin is way too simplistic for a complex band like GNR.

Where did you come across the information that it is recorded in '99?
