Dave, it could also be "And in the end the charges true" - which doesn't really make much sense, sentence wise - unless you view it more as a poem and less as a declarative statement.
I'm just pretty damn certain I'm hearing 'charge is (or charges) true.

I agree with that lyrical interpretation, it sounds almost spot on, or how about "in the end, the change is true"/"in the end you know its true"? I do view the verses more as poetic stanzas than just song lyrics, while the chorus is an all out outcry.

Not quite Coma-esque, but I definately picked up a "Ramble On" vibe from this song..first Axl borrowing the Stairway bassline for Madagascar, and now IRS..I definately am seeing how this record could be contrasted as Zeppelin-esque like Brain has mentioned before.

If it is that does not make any sense.
Actually I think it does because hes saying if choose not to talk{pleading the 5th} then that will be the end of that relationship or whatver{that will be the end of time} because by u not talking is indirectly confessing
when u plead the 5th, that'll be the end of time, its true or if its true

Yes Madagascar and IRS both have Zep vibes. Theres nothing I need to ehar from this band anymore. No more "proving". If Cd has songs as good or better than the songs we have heard, they have knocked it out of the dam park.
IRS has proved this band can come up with a catchy rocker. Love the tempo changes and Axls vibe. Great song.

End of time does not make sense in the song or lyric. Why would pleading the fifth mean the end of time? Anytime its true or in the end the charge is true makes sense.

Axl does not write like that. I am not even going to argue the lryic since this thread is not about lyrics but the end of time its true is wrong.? It doesnt even make sense as a metaphore. It could be in the end? you'll find its true.
That makes sense and sounds like what? you think it is. Actually now that I listen again, it just me be that.

What if it's like this?: "When you plead the fifth, that?d be the end of time it?s true "
If it's like an irony meaning when you choose to shut up it will be the end of time before that happens? It's about someone who can't stop talkin shit? Considering what's come next in the story abour all the rumours gone wrong

you know what? we've been trying to figure out this fucking line for 6 months.
we ain't gonna get it till we see the lyrics booklet.
one thing is for sure.? the line above doesn't make sense
here's what i can make out of it
gonna call the president
gonna call that private eye
gonna get the IRS
gonna need the FBI
There's not anymore that I can do
With all the legions that tell me "I'll follow you"
?So when you see the pictures and the advertisements too?
or
?will you be the victims and the agonizers too?
or
?will you be the buisiness and the advertisers too??
or
?When you plead to bitches and the advertisers too?
or
?Will you be a witness and the prosecuter too?
or
?when you're cleared of business and the end of time is due?
or
?So when you 'blah blu-blah bluh bla-blah" and the "blah bu-bla-bu-blue"?
personally i think the last one is the right one?

i refuse to agree younggunner, to me, what everyone says is
5th
is clearly a 2-syllable word.
but, like i said before i don't think we'll get it right 'til the lyrics are published in the CD booklet, or until we get a better version of the song.

I really think "when you plead the 5th, that'll be the end of time it's true..or {if its true.}" makes the most sense
Me too am keep hearing a diphthong of "ai" as in time, life, dime or such there.
I can't catch the word "charge".
at first I thought it was
"But when you plead the fifth And in the end it's like the truth".(meaning = note that silence gives consent)
Then "And to the end of time it's True"
Or "And that'll be the end of the line, as if it's true"
Quote
?So when you 'blah blu-blah bluh bla-blah" and the "blah bu-bla-bu-blue"?
getting warmer!!!!
Yeah,
I'm not even sure about that "I follow you" line.
With the noises and such, the words are too hard to catch.
Dave's work is amazing, considering..

5th isn't a two syllable word, its actually two separate words.
'So when you plead the fifth AND in the end the charge is (or charges) true'
It wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong (as in, I believed you, I'm an idiot)
But it'll be the last I'm sure I'm gone
And all the movers I can tell, some things didn't go so well.
That kind of makes sense.. come to think of it.
