An update on my take of the lyrics. (I know I'm obsessed, it's pathetic)
0:00
gonna call the president
gonna call that private eye
gonna get the IRS
gonna need the FBI
0:12
There's not anymore that I can do
all the legions, they tell me, "I follow you"
"when you're cleared of business and the end of time is due"
0:27
It wouldn't be the first time I'd been gone
It wouldn't be the last, I'm sure, I've found
With all the rumors I can tell
some things didn't work so well

I am going to say what most of the press and fans will say when they listen to Chinese Democracy, and Axl didn't consider this:
It is a [cool, ok, good, interesting, etc] album, but it is not a 13 millon dollars and 10 years produced album. Not that great considering all the money, time, tour cancelations, musicans involved, in relation with the album.
Obviously we only did hear an incomplete song with demo quality, and recorded 2 years ago (I belive that the band in 2 years has re-record some songs or parts of them) but what I wrote 2 lines before, is what most of the people will say, no matters if the album is revolutionary or a mediocre one.

As strange as this may sound...if thats the worst of the reviews regarding this album, then its a good thing.
If thats as bad as it will get then the album will be great. Its impossible and probably unprecedented to review an album with these circumstances mentioned. How do you do it? So if the reviews are not bashing the songs and saying they are actually good but focus on the whole time aspect, then for me thats a good thing.
Then it would be up to the person to decide whether they will like it because its actually good or not like it because its 10 yrs.
A review like that would be a check on GnR's list of uphill battles.

I don't even understand why ppl compare this one with YCBM?
I prefer this DEMO to YCBM.? To be bloody honest, I like this song more than old GNR catalogue.
I'm not a big fan of the blues or Maddy tho. But maybe when I'm older...
Hey, Neemo, this is a bit of my "lady Mondegreen".

Your gonna pull evidence
Your gone to the private eye
Your gonna get the IRS
Your gonna need the FBI

It's nogging the heart that I can do
All the regions..
.. I never knew
When you plead the fifth,
And in the end of time it's True.

Wouldn't be the twist and I'd been gone
Would be the last turn should I've known
All the rumours I can tell,
Some thing didn't work so well
it doesn't work so well. The clip I hear is very poor quality.
(still that cant hide the quality of the music from me).

I think its a good song cant really make out the drumming and Finck's solo could be better, obviously the quality of the recording is poor but I think the studio version will make it alot better.
Its a good song but comparing it to YCBM is stupid, the new GN'R sounds nothing like the old line-up, the personnel on the songs are totally different (stating the obvious there) and Axl's voice is completely different.
Besides YCBM is my favourite song ever and it'll take something amazing to come close it.

damn this song is awesome, even with the low quality. now i just can't wait for CD. Axl definitely makes this song amazing. i just hope there's a guitar intro in the final version... it starts too quickly.

the "a band can only make one classic album" comment is so off base.
Look at the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Californication" was every bit as classic as Blood sex sugar magik
Prince's "Sign of the Times" 2 cd set is considered on par with "Purple Rain"
Im sure there have been many bands throughout history that have duplicated their success many times.

Not to mention we're talking about a completely different group of muscians!!!
So "a band can make only one classic album" theory holds no water in this case.

I guess I am the only one still trying to surf the net and actually find the song to listen to. They should just release the official song on itunes so they can get $ for the files and have a good song out rather then making nothing off a bad demo. Afteral we all love GnR I just want to hear something.

I like it. Axl seems to have some of the old swagger and the song has a potentially great groove to it. It is clearly a demo. Question: I have only listened to this on my laptop. Are those acoustic guitars in the organ/solo/slowed down section in the middle? I can' hear it enough to discern. Song should sound really good as a finished product.

ok the version i have is really really crappy. and is it just me or does the volume rise or the quality get better at around 2:30?
apart from this, the song sounds really really good.
i really love axl's voice. there's vintage axl but theres also some really really cool vocals, higher pitched, clearer. D will hate me for making this reference but i hear a lot of Robert Plant style vocals in some parts of the song. The similarity is striking. Since im a big fan of Robert Plant, i love it. I can't get over how great the vocals sound. The scream over bucketheads solo is orgasmic.
I really like both solos. Its like at 2 sides of the spectrum. Fink with his volume swells and ambient style, then Buckethead totally ripping.
I've lost all faith in this album ever seeing the light of day. But as long as we get leaks like this everyonce in a while it'll be cool. It'll keep me happy
