still working on this
Im still working on this
IRS
Love
Is it true
What they say of you(?)
Gonna call the President
Gonna call in the Private Eye
Gonna get the IRS
Gonna need the FBI
There?s not anymore that I can do
All the leeches said to me
I?ll follow you
When you plead the fifth, that be anytime it?s true
Wouldn?t be the first time I've been wrong
Wouldn't be the last time I should have known
All the rumors I can tell,
Something?s didn't work so well
Well anyway, it feels the same
When you first told me you were gone
So long ago, but I've been here long
To all the luck gettin out of the debt
That?s the truth and here?s the worst yet
When I need another favor I make
You?ve mind up your mind at home anyway
Can?t believe that I was out there alone
Couldn?t see it coming all along
Well it?s true...ooh...I had forgotten,
Gonna call the President
Gonna call myself a Private Eye
Gonna need the IRS
Gonna get the FBI
Gonna make this a federal case
Gonna win and rip it outta your face
Read a minute with your morning news
With a cheap hang over, and their headlines true now
[
Finck Solo]
I've been too sure to offer my help,
Shouldn?t have to hear it from somebody else
If i'm done with all the wrong
Feel like I'll never get ya out of this song
Well I'm just too tired to care
Maybe like I just walked in my shit
They'll be waiting on me I know
Like a broken record for so long
What can I do?
Ooh, oh.
I'm Gonna call the President,
I'm gonna call a private Eye
Gonna get the IRS,
Gonna get myself the FBI.
ooh, what shall I do
If I gave my heart to you
It's such a crime you know it too
[Bucket solo]
Gonna call the president
Gonna make myself a private eye
Gonna need the IRS
Gonna get the FBI
Gonna make this a federal case
Gonna win and rip it outta your face
Read a minute with your morning news
With a cheap hang over, and their headlines true now
There's not anymore that I can do
Great job Dave, I love this fuckin song so much. its probably my fav song so far, Madagascar is right up there and so is the Blues.
Im gonna put this on my MP3 player tonight and Ill double check the lyrics from my point of view and give my opinion but they look great Dave!

I don't agree with those lyrics, either. My main and only argument against them is that they just don't make any sense. .
Dont blame Dave for that. Blame the person that wrote them.

I wasn't as excited to hear that IRS has leaked as I was Better or TWAT, since this track obviously leaked last year..but after many, many listens I can can it is a gem as far as "rockers" go, and I truly doubt its even one of the "Big Guns" Uncle Axl has in store for us...
The solo is absolutely insane..but like many others, I fear to wonder how poor Robin could even hope of duplicating that live, even with Richard's assistance...
The rhtyhm riff is really catchy in itself, but needs to be more agressive/dominate in my opinion..
Also Axl's vocals really need to be reworked in great length although I can tell even through the quality of this demo, he's gunna have a crazy pitch ala "You're Crazy"

If Axl would stop sounding like a woman on these new tunes (" better" was recorded in the early 90's so that doesn't count) people would probablyaccept them a little more. One of the main complaints I have heard is that Axl doesn't have the uniquehard kick ass voice he once had. They say he sounds like a whiny bitch. I have somewhat the same opinion , listen to the 2002 mp3's he sounds like wayne newton at times . A badass rocker should never sound like this.

The old Slashguard weighing in.....
One should note, nothing wrong with the Slashguard. I know many, and they know music. I think IRS is about Slash! Ironically, Slash may lay a lick or two down on this one by the time we get the album version.
LMFAO, you guy's, confidant's insist we are in for a great ride--soon!! Slash and Axl--well?
I think it is about Slash too. I can hear that now.

Havent seen this mentioned (but will admit I haven't read all 25 pages), but...
Does anyone else think that perhaps IRS is "Oklahoma"?
I know Axl talked about the fact "Oklahoma" was a song he concieved of while disucssing the particulars of his divorce while the Oklahmoa city bombing was going on.
Sure sounds very similar in theme to IRS to me.

Why would Axl want the IRS? Wouldn't he rather have the CIA? He's already asking for the President, a PI, & the FBI. You would think he would want the CIA in the mix too, huh? I guess nothing rhymed with CIA. I was just doing laundry, and started to think about that.

Here's my interpretation of the lyrics. Mostly changed the middle verse a bit. You guys all did a great job.
-------------------------
Love, is it true?
What they say of you?
Gonna call the President
Gonna call a Private Eye
Gonna get the IRS
Gonna need the FBI
There?s not anymore that I can do
All the legions that you give
I?ll follow you
So when you plead the fifth that?d be the end of time it?s true
Wouldn?t be the first time I've been wrong
Wouldn't be the last I?m sure I?ve known
Through all the rumors I can tell
Some things didn't work so well
Well anyway it feels the same
Cause when you first told me you were gone
So long ago, but I've been here alone
Through all the emotions that I?ll ever felt
And that?s the truth and here?s the worst yet
Would it even matter the things that I say?
You?ve made your mind up and gone anyway
And there?s no use now in draggin? it on
Should?ve seen it coming all along
Well it?s true, I had forgotten, yea
Gonna call the President
Gonna call myself a Private Eye
Gonna need the IRS
Gonna get the FBI
I?m gonna make this a federal case
Gonna wave it right down in your face
Read a minute with your morning news
With a cheap hang over, and their headlines true now
I bet you think I?m doing this all for my health
I should?ve looked back in then at somebody else
Feels as like I?ve done way more than wrong
Feeling like I'll never get tired of this song
Feeling like I'm just too tired to care
Feeling like I?ve done more than my share
Could?ve been the weight that I?ve carried on
Like a broken record for so long
And I do
Ooh, oh.
I'm Gonna call the President,
Gonna call a private Eye
Gonna get the IRS,
Gonna need myself the FBI.
Ooh, what shall I do
If I gave my heart to you
It's such a crime you know it?s true
Gonna call the president
Gonna get myself a private eye
Ooh I?m gonna need the IRS
I?m gonna get the FBI
I?m gonna make it a federal case
I?m gonna wave it right down in your face
Read a minute with your morning news
With a cheap hang over, and their headlines true
It's not anymore that I can do...

I don't know who was the first to crack that part, but they did a great fucking job!
My interpretation was pretty much what we had back in the beggining, but that is completly different. Lyricaly, compared to what I thought it was before, it is endlesly better.

Is this demo old enough to have Paul Tobias on it? The rhythm guitar doesn't sound fluid enough to be Fortus, unless its designed to be that way...

I can't take credit for that. It was Nimbus IIRC.

I think the only song Fortus is on that has been leaked is Better, the rest have Tobais, and CITR doesnt even have BH or Brain, its Freese on Drums.
