to me the best part of that song is the solo near the end.. The song itself is OK..
I totally agree. That solo makes the song. Without it, Irs becomes very average/mediocre, or at least average in comparison to the other good new songs.

I just heard IRS (thanks to my Bud) I have to say, without being mixed or mastered it sounded amazing. His voice sounds good, though it sounds excellent on Better.

I was a little nervous when I read the lyrics, but he sings it very well. Great chorus. I know its a rough cut but it reminds me a lot of Rush.

The mix isn't the greatest, but given that, IRS is strong and Better is simply breathtaking.

I'm not impressed. Both of the new clips ain't too cool. These are clearly demos, so the final thing may be better, but esp. I.R.S. is not a good song...just imagine you heard a demo of Sweet Child...see the difference?

Thanx to Evo btw !  Cool

What is the difference between the new version and the old version besides the sound quality?  I haven't heard the new version.

Is it longer?  Different solos?  What's different from the last one we heard?

This song is all right but nothing special. The lyrics are subpar, the song construction is kind of jumpy and I'm not that impressed with the buckethead solo. I've been a fan since I was 17 in 1987 and to say this is better than anything on AFD is wrong. It's about as good as the weaker stuff on UYI I and II. Good but it took 15 years for this? The blues is much better. I like the 1:20 of "Better" that I managed to download. This is a much "better" tune than IRS from what i've heard of it. Just my opinion.

Didn't hear them either, wish I could hear IRS.  The first leak was amazing.

Probably won't listen to Better. I haven't heard it and rather hear it from the album.

This is exactly the way I wished the new GNR would be. Its like a great mix of diferent music styles and it sounds totally like nothing we have heard before.

My favorite part was when Axl makes that high long pitch while the solo goes on, I can already visualize the whole thing in a live gig, its going to be amazing.

I cant stop listening to these two songs. They are SO AMAZING! I can't wait to hear the final version on the album, I bet its gonna sound very diferet with a lot of new fill riffs and maybe diferent lyrics (the lyrics where in my opinion the weakest part but the sound of the voice is great).

One should note, nothing wrong with the Slashguard.? I know many, and they know music.? I think IRS is about Slash!? Ironically, Slash may lay a lick or two down on this one by the time we get the album version.? ?Wink  LMFAO, you guy's, confidant's insist we are in for a great ride--soon!!  Slash and Axl--well?

Is it just me, but does the very beginning 0:03 to 0:07 remind you of The Garden off of UYI I?

Wow, just awesome stuff.  What a great day/night.    beer  beer  beer   beer

Had IRS on my minidisc player when I was at the gym earlier, it really got me going - man I was an animal!!

Thinking about the tempo of the song:

When you listen to the demo's from appetite all of them are slower than the final cut. Jungle sounds weird slow.

I love the tempo of the song too. This is exactly my kinda rock song. The tempo of The Blues was also slower in 02 than the Vegas and Rio gigs and I much preferred the Vegas/Rio version.

I.R.S is decent... for some reason it just leaves something to be desired... I wish it were a bit more faster.

I must say I didn't care for the song.  I'd like to hear a better version before making any final judgments, but my initial reaction to the demo was *thumbs down*.
