Gonna call the President
Gonna call the Private Eye
Gonna get the IRS
Gonna need the FBI
0:11
There?s not anymore that I can do
All the legions said to me, I?ll follow you
When you plead the fifth, in the end of time is true
0:27
Wouldn?t be the first time I've been wrong
Wouldn't be the last time should I?m gone
All the rumors I can tell,
Something?s didn't work so well
0:37
With any way it feels the same
When you first told me you were gone
So long ago, but I've been here long
To all the luck gettin out of this wreck
A fact that you've got to hear worst yet
When I need another favorite I take
It means your life will be gone anyway
Can?t believe that I was out there at all
Couldn?t see it coming all along
1:05
Well its true...ooh...I am, But don?t forget ooh ooh
Gonna call the President
Gonna call myself a Private eye
Gonna need the IRS
Gonna get the FBI
1:24 (need help with this)
Gonna make this a federal case
Gonna win and knock it outta your face
Rearrange it when your morning is noon?
And the police hang together, and their headlines true
[Finck Solo]
1:55
I've been too sure to offer my help
I set it up again dressed as somebody else
Feel like stumbling on the road
Feel like I'll never get ya out of this song
Well I'm just too sad to kill
Maybe like I just walked in my shit
They'll be waiting on me I know
Like a broken record for so long
2:17
What can I do?
Ooh, oh.
I'M Gonna call the President,
I'm gonna call a private eye,
Gonna get the IRS,
Gonna get myself the FBI.
((PS to me it seems here a part of the song has been edited out)
2:33
ooh, what shall I do
If I gave my heart to you
It's such a crime you now it's true
[Bucket solo]
3:10
Gonna call the president
Gonna make myself a private eye
Gonna need the IRS
Gonna get the FBI
3:20
Gonna make this a federal case
Gonna win and knock it outta your face
Rearrange it when your morning is noon?
And the police hang together, and their headlines true
3:32
There's not anymore that I can do

Whats up everyone...
Id first lik to say that after the board being down for awhile, I have realized that this is hands down the best gnr mesesage board. no contest. We all have our differences when it comes to gnr, but atleast its constructive and organized. Jarmo and company run a very professional type site and the posters for the most part are cool too. Good stuff we have here...lets keep it up
as for IRS....
When I first heard the song I was a little disappointed. The song sounded disorganized to me. But after hearing thru the shitty quality, the song is amazing. I love it a lot. I love the way Axl sings on all parts, I love the tempo changes of the song, the background vocals/effect, and the solos. I can only imagine what the studio will sound like.
During the initial phases of discussuion with this song i read a lot of "its real good but is it 10 yrs worth". My question si what does that "sound" sound like?
IMO, IRS is a very good song. Is it a comeback/big gun type...I personally dont think so. If it was another band not named GNr doing this then the song would get great reviews. But give the circumstances with GNR, the song is very good. Just comes with the territory I guess. So if this song turns out to be a "filler" we are gonna be in for a real treat.
The song has a catchy chorus and cool hooks. Cant get the thing out of my head.
Keep up the great work...HTGTH,GNR fans and of course...GN"F"R!.....
Please make soon the word!

I DL it from this place... daaa
I've said this B4 on this board and I will say it again, back in like 99 - 00, dont rele remember when. But it was about 6 months B4 the first tour, I DL 4 or 5 tracks off Ch Dem using limewire. I deleted them because I didnt know how important they were, I just figured everyone had em. I then found out that no one else had em and tryed to recover them but no luck. Me and a friend listened to em. So they have been around for a very long time...
And I dont care wut anyone else thinks.
And what did they sound like?... Well just like all the shit we've heard so far...
Quote
I just got done listening to the real song that will probebly be on the CD. Theres lots of lil shit u CANT hear in the sound clip thats going around right now. Very bad ass song. Here are the lyrics...
I think your full of shit. You just finished listening to a version of IRS that is much clearer and that will most probably be on cd? And before that you deleted them and couldn't recover it..........then how did you finish listening to a good quality version of IRS? bullshit.
First off I dont get what u mean. How do u not get what i just said. I download about 5 songs off limewire like 4 years ago then deleted them about 2 weeks later... I then downloaded (today) IRS which sounded like any other MP3 a band would put out. Then I took the lyircs from it and put it here. Whats there not to get?
100% truth, I had 4 or 5 tracks off CH Dem, I dont even remember the names. One was CH Dem i know for shure. I had no idea what the band was up to at this time, No idea who was in the new line up, how long they had been working on them. I thought of it as no big deal. So I deleted them to make room for other songs since it was a shity PC with little memory. End of storie. When I got done listening to them I thought "humm not bad, sounds like a good rock band"
Unless u guys can tell me how to go threw my old computer and some how find files I deleted from that long ago. If thats possible I can get you 4 or 5 tracks....

I think the song is mediocre at best. No real melody. A lot of random noise. Very weak overall. Better than Rhiad but not close to what the old band put out. 3 out of 10, generously speaking. I hope the rest of the album is not this way or GNR is heading for a train wreck.

Its just a demo and this song is much better than most singles on the radio. This song is catchy, the chorus gets stuck in your head.? Like I said its just a demo and we have not even heard the intro, and i am sure the solos will be changed and other stuff like that.? Id give it a 8/10. This song is on the same level as YCMB. And the song has been pretty much 90% postive for gnr fans? on the boards.

This isn't gonna be a IRS vs (VR song) thread.
It would be pointless...... Everybody has their own personal tastes.

I havent really tried to figure out the lyrics yet
but ill try tonight
it is hard to decipher
i like most of what u have though
I just want everyone to not only listen to the lyrics but to also keep a creative mind while figuring them out. whatever anyone figures out read over and make sure that it fits together and adds up and that it seems like something axl would write and say
alot of that is very good though Dave, i have no idea how u made all that out! good job

I had a lot of help from cd.com and mygnr.com.
And people should remember when trying to figure out the lyrics, most times every two lines rhyme.

i also think the lyric is sin not shit....
this song convinces me that Axl and this band are going to be able to deliver a normal structured song. This song can go on radio right now and do well. A song like Maddy is a fan song.

yeah but a song is way more than lines rhyming
they have to go together to tell a story and make sense.
thats all im saying, just make sure the lines rhyme but also go together and make sense.

Dave great fuckin job dude!!
i listened while following the lyrics u put out and i must say u are at least 95 percent accurate
that morning noon line, i have no clue what he says there though.
but great job
and i must say after listening to this song again IT KICKS SO MUCH FUCKIN ASS! i mean seriously this is a shitty demo and it fuckin blows anything i have heard in the last who knows how long out of the fuckin water!
it grows on u and when it does, holy shit does it grow!
the only thing i dont much care for is Finck's solo in the middle, the outro solo fuckin rules though, i still think finck should stick to rhythm.
anyhow great job Dave and whoever helped out!

I love the slow solo, but it sounds like Buckethead to me, I don't know why everyone says it's Finck. I don't really like the second one, I hope it's improved (and I'm sure it will be) on the album.

I tell u what, i never doubted Axl all that much but honestly whatever small doubts i had have been totally fucking erased
Do u hear those fuckin High notes he hits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for those who dont like it, i know why
its cause u cant really understand what axl is saying *thats why i didnt like it at first*
read Dave's excellent interpretation of the lyrics while listening
it sheds a whole new brand new light on the song
i remember not digging Oh My God very much for the same reason, but once i read the lyrics while listening i was instantly hooked
I keep rockin the fuck out to IRS
I think it is amazing
AXL'S voice is the greatest rock voice ever
he is still the greatest, that shit is so amazing, i feel like a little nutswingin bitch right now but i cant help it
cause right now im truly in awe of Axl and what he has done with this song alone
if this really isnt top 10 then Axl will change the music universe
its that great to me.

i came across a few articles on the following sites.
http://www.melodicrock.com/
http://www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=77720
http://www.xfm.co.uk/article.asp?id=77644
...
SNIP
This is something all 3 says
"The leak and rumoured emergence of other new tracks ?Madagascar? and ?The Blues? have all sparked rumours that the new GNR album ?Chinese Democracy? will get a release sometime in the near future, with some reports claiming that the album will finally hit stores in November this year."
rumored emergence? unless I am reading this wrong, are they saying demos of those 2 are floating about too?
