remember all the critics on the 2002 tour about how Axl doesnt sound like Axl blah blah blah.

One thing I love about the leaks is the fact that what a few of us speculated on seems to be true.

we said that Axl has learned to sing a proper style to not fuck his throat up on the road but in the studio it will sound like vintage Axl.

I think the leaks prove that Axl's voice has never been better.

You don't know how old any of the demos are - don't make assumptions.

i wish the mix was a bit better. Alot of the criticism with the demos has been that Axl's voice is not louder on the tracks; hence more of the Axl's voice has lost its power criticism.

in the leak I.R.S I think it's a little bit annoying axl's voice, maybe because of the repetitive lyrics, sound? I don't know what it is but personally I don't dig it at all  Undecided Tongue

That's an audience recording - give me a soundboard recording and then I can make a fair assessment.

yeah but u are the one who said Motley Crue was better than GNR so obviously u are an Axl hater anyway

the tone, grit and snarl is still there.

point is on tour he had to sing a way as to not rip his vocal cords apart, but in the studio u can sing like u want to cause its not as taxing on your throat.

It's a great recording though, and clear. If I was saying it sucked then maybe the soundboard version would improve it, that it's an audience recording only adds to my point, I feel. You can hear he sings great, power, clear wails, nailing the highs...in key, he's still got it. The demo's as well show it, be they from 02,04,06, whatever. Axl's tubes are intact.

The demos might be from 1998 for all we know.

And the 2002 concerts were 4 years ago - his voice might have changed since then.

I guess we'll soon see.

That's impossible demos from 1998.
Buckethead was confirmed in the band one month before Vegas (November/December 2000) and IRS and TWAT has Buckethed parts.

personally, I think he should he should sing in a lower voice

Who cares about critics.

I saw Axl live twice during 2002 and he sounded killer both times.

I'm sure he sounds great now. The guy could sell millions more albums and sing to sold out stadiums and people would still say his voice sucks.

Who cares...............

I absolutely love his voice.   His range is unbelievable to me.  BUT - I do hear non GNR fans laugh at it.  I guess I just don't get it.  Undecided

I like the way he says "pretty" in twat.

well, everything I've heard since the original members left is his glass shattering voice

Some of the best ie The Blues, maddy, TWAT, Bette, IRS.....all super high octaves

Granted, he's got the best vocal range in rock music.....I'd just like to see more range, as would others

And I wasn't talking about critics, just normal every day people that listen to the same music i do

just not diehard fans
