USA had a good day at the Olympics. ?Cheesy

Looks like Sweden's pushing of Peter Forsberg to play paid off since they will at least go home with Silver.

Too bad the Finns didn't win their curling match but they should take the gold in hockey ok

Actually, all this talk about Sweden pushing Peter is just nonsense. As he said himself, noone has pushed him to come to the olympics. It's been his own decision from the start and he wouldn't have played if he didn't feel 100%.

It's gonna be a killer on sunday. Our biggest rivals in the final. It can't get much bigger Smiley

Niittymaki with another shutout!! One more game to go!

Peter Forsberg and Niittymaki are guaranteed to come back to Philadelphia with a medal. ?Grin

great headline in philadelphia's daily news after US and Canada got eliminated...

"North American't"

niittymaki is the man!! i love that guy, and he gets no respect. the flyers wouldn't name him their #1, and finland didn't even want him for the olympics.

but he just continues to prove everyone wrong. the flyers should name him their starter.

he'll be facing lundqvist on sunday, and maybe again on thursday (rangers @ flyers).

That's not true at all. Peter was not 100% to play when he went over to Italy. He was told by several doctors in the US that he was not healed and should not play. The whole Flyers organization did not want him to play. ? The Swedish doctor who examined him when he arrived in Italy pretty much agreed with the American doctors. It was looking very unlikely that he would play but then he magically heals overnight after Sweden gets a beating from Russia. ?

To be fair, it does seem like the treatment by he received over there was better than what he was getting from the Flyers staff. The Flyers staff is pretty awful and should be replaced.

That was a very impressive game by Finland, I must say! If they play like that on Sunday, I'm afraid Sweden has very little chance of winning.

Finland against Sweden is always a whole other story. No other games up until this point matter.

It'll be interesting... Niittym?ki's been excellent. The whole team's been great. Tonight they really played as a team. Sunday will hopefully be a great hockeynight no matter what the outcome (except that we will win...)

(except that we will win...)

Naah Smiley We'll let Finland get some easy goals in the first period...shall we say...like 5-1? Then we'll bounce back and win it with 6-5. Remember world championships 2003, anyone?  hihi

But as you said. No recent games matter now. This is a massive game. Just mention Finland and Sweden's motivation can't get any higher and vice versa. It'll be a great game with two excellent goalies and some great players. I can smell OT already...

Skeba is so right about that, Finland against Sweden will be a whole other story.

Oh yes.  nervous
So, I won?t be too optimistic about the game on sunday, eventhough we have a ecellent goalkeeper, better than in years.
