It is also so hard because GNR is one of the very greatest bands of all times.  And I am not being a homer on this.  I mean Slash along with Izzy are one of the greatest one two punches ever.  This just all makes me sick.  I can't wait for the new VR album.

Mike, I too enjoy, but should be called something else.  Isn't this just like Black Sabbath then Ozzy?  See, Ozzy proves that Axl could have been a big draw solo style.  But yeah, I like the songs.  Just when I want GNR, I want GNR, not the new songs Axl is doing.  Now there is a void out there cause not even Axl is doing the GNR style thing anymore.  So now it is okay if VR takes on that role of the modern day GNR.  Do this sound crazy?

well that is perfect, sabbath wasn't sabbath with dio, ozzy did the right thing once he went solo and had a major career, he could have had fixtures (axl) like zakk wylde or randy rhoads.. You are a lot like me, you love gnr but the real one... You like the new songs but don't agree with them calling themselves gnr..

I would like to see vr take on that closer to afd role of gnr then axl taking the illusions to the next step.. I am pleased with both sets of music, I think songs like slither ygnr loving the alien, dlt or dlt by axl would have had this place claiming it was awesome..  I think musically vr rocked, they could use  aboost lyrically and vocally.. Songs like illegal I, spectacle just have great openings instrumentally.. I think vr stuck to their rock roots.

Haha, I just think slash's solo work in street child is amazing, santana's solo work in foofoo and american Gypsy is amazing. Music is to delight people, I get shocked and enjoy, thats very fine and enough, there's no need to bash any music only coz its not your style, though only IMO, ha. peace

Slash will be back to GNR only if axl would fire his guitarist and Slash would fire his vocal, that will not bring any respect for both men IMO. I'd rather move on Roll Eyes You can say the ones who like the new lineup and stuffs are only kids among gnr fans, but people change and enjoy their new life, would wont stop for anyone.

Mike, afte hearing the new GNR, it really makes me appreciate Slash even more.? I know everyone comments on Axl vs. Scott and how it is so different.? Same could be said about Slash vs. anyone that is in GNR.? They are not even in the same league.? Just goes to show you that it doesn't matter how many notes you can play per second, there is a reason why Slash is a guitar hero/God and those others are not.? He just has the ability to completey suck you into his playing.? It is so beautiful and perfect for each song.? And you don't ever forget his playing, where as I can't even remember what the hell bucket and fink are playing.?

It is not only Slash vs New (nu) GNR...
It is also Duff,? Matt,? Gilby,? Izzy...? ?Everyone in former line up beats anyone in current

I agree for the most part..... I still think G n' R  was better without Matt... I would rather have Brain then him....

I use that analogy alot..  Axl would be pretty damn big going out as himself..  I mean, the shit he does doesn't even sound like any Gn'R that has ever been released... He should go out solo and leave the door open for a reunion...

all of it  Undecided or the recent leaks

some of that music includes: rhiad, silkworms, OMG; not exactly Axl's best work hihi

I wouldn't mind it if Slash did something with Pink. She has an incredible voice, and is a major GnR fan.....too bad her own music is crap.

Well I have been a fan since afd so I have enjoyed all the music pretty much up until sftd in 94.. Wasn't as happy when izzy left and the band had that mega bloatation during shows like tokyo..93 had the cool vibe going tour wise more stripped down..

As for the new gnr I like some of the new material, but they don't rank as high as my favs in the old, but the ones I dislike riyad, cd, omg silkworms are right there with their worst music since gnr exists

which is an extremely low percentage for me as I was a freshman in HS when AFD 1st hit

see for me the blues or maddy are good songs, just not classics or anything like most people feel, they were songs that held me over for a year.. They aren't like jungle or scom or pc civil war nr estranged coma ycbm that will always be played

Songs like oh my god held my interest briefly in november 99, riyad never held my interest nor did silkworms.. CD i thought at first was ok, but really hearing it lfor a while I just think it's weak especially compared to the gnr guitar era

Right now I am happy with

twat, better, citr (catchy pop tune) makes me sad n happy.I think of black hole sun, or can't fight this feeling when it starts... Even irs has one highlight which is buckets kick ass solo at the end

I think he was planning to do some kind of album like that a while before VR started to happen, am I wrong?

Yeah he had been planning that before VR.... I think it would be awesome. Not a pop album liek Santana but just all different people.. I am sure he would pick some weirdos though.. It would be cool if the whole thing was rockin though. Hmmmmm, how about..

Steven Tyler
Ozzy
Izzy
Ian Astbury
Mick Jagger
Robert Plant
Kid Rock
DMX

My Brain isn't working well right now, but that would be an interesting start.

you picked alot the people I'd mention: like S. Tyler, Ozzy, R. Plant, M. jagger but I'd like him to do a one off with Axl, Chistina Aguilera, joss Stone na d Sarah McClughlin....don't ask me wahy I put those three women in there other than they have killer voices and Joss Stone's got the closest voice to Janis Joplin since janis

Did you ever hear Pink's voice? Or her rendition of Piece of My Heart....she beats Joss Stone times 10
