i've tried 3 local teams. the local teams are just as bad as the school teams.
In that case I suggest you shave your head, get a tattoo and start listening to rap music.

Uh huh, and hair metal used to be all you could see on tv, and kids liked it because they didn't see anything else.? They thought women were sex objects and big, large hair and ripped jeans were hip because that is what they saw everyday.? My the times have changed since these black artists became successful?
Blaming hip hop is a joke.
No, it is not a joke. There are definitely some similarities because hair metal did objectify women just like rap, but the biggest difference between rap and any other genre of music is the violence and crime associated with it. There isn't another genre of music out there that is associated with violence the way rap is. Rap is the only genre where record labels have had ties to gangs and to the drug trade. It's the only genre of music where drug dealers are glorified and become millionaires. It's the only genre of music where its stars have to worry about getting shot, stabbed, etc by other rappers and their associates. You don't see violence break out normal awards ceremonies and gatherings like you do at rap ceremonies and gatherings. You don't see musicians from other genres get arrested for the most severe crimes such as murder as frequently as rappers are.
The fact is rap is surrounded by alot of negativity. No other genre is surrounded by the type of negativity that surrounds rap. It is a poor influence on today's youth.

In the 80's, people like you would have said the same thing about Heavy Metal.
It's these parents that raise their kids to be fucking dumb-asses.
My family taught me right from wrong well. When I was like 6 years old, I was watching Arnold Schwarzenneger blow up people in movies and I'd still be a good kid.
People are jealous of hip-hop stars because of they're popularity.
You can pick out anything and find something bad. For example, that child nursery rhyme, that goes something like " rub a dub dub, three men in a tub..."

People like me? HA! You haven't got a clue...
I never claimed that metal or any other genre of music was wholesome and squeaky clean. The difference is that rap has a history of being surrounded by lots of violence and crime that no other genre of music has experienced.
I agree that the parents bear the ultimate responsiblity. There is no question about that, but that doesn't mean rap can't be a negative influence. It's not like it is one or the other that influences a child. Both of these factors (plus many other) can influence a child.
