I mean shit all these years have passed.. When he first walks onstage already and jungle kicks in and he gets his first chance to address the crowd what will he say, who will he rant on?? How do you explain everything to the fans he knows have been patiently waiting all this time..? Can he play a show without mentioning cd's time table..? Carrying lots of weight on his shoulders this time around..

I want to see a live video stream of their first show so I can hear his first words again , just to hear what he has to say when the stage is his soap box..? SHould be very interesting.. Shocked

Its awesome to think about this.

I hope Axl stays the same and doesnt sell out, that is my only hope. I hope he is still the great amazing frontman we all remember and i hope he dont start giving the nice, media answers.

I cant wait to read the first ever featured interview, its gonna be sooooooo amazing getting to learn about everything that has went on.

ARV.... why are you laughing at Cindy Lauper's ex-fans scorning her!? That's not very nice! Poor Cindy! *hugglez Cindy*
And anyway, you're wrong. Axl won't face that. He has too many FAITHFUL fans who will support his decisions.

Anyhoo, back on topic. I think Axl probably IS nervous, but face it, he's a pro! He's gone up on stage hundreds of times before! He'll have no trouble! Also, I would say he's more excited than nervous... if he was that nervous, he wouldn't be appearing everywhere and posing for photos everywhere! He looks a helluva lot better than he did back in 00-02, almost back to the UYI days look... drool and I to me it seems that he's raring to go!

And when he does go up onstage at Download with Robin, Richard, Brain, Dizzy, Tommy and Bucket (or Bucket's replacement), I'll be RIGHT there waitin' so I can cheer him on!! peace ok

he'll laugh off, but mention, the collapse of the last round id assume - like he has laughed off missed shows later on in the tours.

id be interested to see what he has to say about buckets departure.

im sure he could go on about his old companions all tour, but maybe he'll let the new tunes and lyrics do that for him.
i would like a nod here and there to VR. a good axl pisstake cant go wrong.

If you had bothered to pay attention what I had actually posted, instead of twisting my words around in your mind, you wouldn't be sayin' that.
I didn't say that Axl was God.
I said that he won't face most of his fans scorning him, because unlike the ex-fans of Cindy Lauper, we're actually LOYAL, and we're not all cynical pessimists. ok

And "think before posting your lines" Huh This coming from someone who's posts make as much sense as Japanese Pig Latin!! rofl

Mike, I actually hope he doesn't do any rants. There are other ways to speak to his fans besides ranting on stage. He needs to stop treating everything like its a game. Just put on a mindblowing 2 hour show, and that will silence all his critics.

he probably will Do some ranting but im not expecting a lot. Hopefully he'll give a few interviews where he can sit down and think about things and try to do some explaining?...

he doesn't seem too nervous to me....

I just want to hear the man speak in front of say the rio crowd....

I agree, I can't wait to hear what hes gonna say, its been so long since we've heard from him.  Axl rants are what makes Axl, Axl.  Its all part of the show.  I don't think hes ever been one to not repond to his critics, to the naysayers.  If CD is out before RIR, you KNOW hes going to give a HUGE thank you to all the fans and prob dedicate "patience" to all of us  ok

D honestly if he lightened up a bit in general and kind of acted like he was getting older it wouldn't bother me a bit.. if I saw aeromsith or the stones I wopuldn't need rants n raving from steven or mick, just a great show would be cool.... I want to hear axl talk mainly because I want to know thes troy behind cd basically and things that hav egone wrong.. Otherwise I don't need a warren beatty rant these days

Yeah I agree with that. Maybe make jokes about starting a riot, other shit like that. Hopefully he's in a mood similar to the one he was in at the HOB show. He seemed happy, and it made it a very good show. His rants cause trouble, puts him in a shitty mood, and increases the chance for a riot.

I don't worry about his rants causing any trouble, I just worry about him making each show, that should be everyone's biggest concern as a fan..

At this point I still don't even know if any one will sponsor a new guns tour(in the usa) without cd out making money.. This could definetly be why he is touring festivals first..

Yeah, I seen someone else mention something like that. Proving himself overseas to make himself marketable here. If he's a blockbuster over there, then he has to be given a chance here. But like you said, if pulls that no show shit, causes riots, walks off stage mid performance, then this tour will be even shorter than the last one. People(promoters, fans) just aren't going to put up with that shit anymore.

i think this year they should get lojack and attach it to axl, and if that doesn't work just do a hanibal and put the mask on his face, attach him to the hand truck and roll him to the venues,.... I don't think the success in europe even matters... To the usa that's like david hasslehoff doing good in germany.... GNR can have zero new material and play a few nights once per year and they would do great each time.. I don't know if this gnr has that maiden ac/dc status where they can release nothing all over the world and still sell out any venue..

GNR is definitely no ACDC. Success requires new material. Shit, just imagine that UYI tour with no album. Maybe success at first, but would have got old quick. Yeah, Axl can kick Rio's ass whenever he wants to, album or no album. Its when he starts branching out that it becomes a huge problem. The casual fan doesnt want to hear unknown songs, and the casual fan doesn't want to just hear 20 year old songs. Its like a catch 22 situation. He's got to have CD in stores, or when he makes his way to New York and California, he might as well just play the free stage at the county fairs, because that is the only seats he will be able to fill.

I don't think axl will ever have a problem with nyc, say there is 10 million in the city alone, then every neighboring state jersey conn or even upstate ny or long island will get a few easily so 15-20K tickets is not a big deal

I think you need it for the smaller areas like wisconson or ohio

Yeah but how long can he sustain himself in those large markets with no album? NY and L.A. for awhile, but not many other places. Without an album, he's looking at empty arenas. He should avoid those states you just mentioned(and a few others). When he comes to my area(arco arena in Sacramento closest to me), is that gonna sell out? It only holds like 10,000 people, maybe less.  I just dont want this tour having a nostalgic vibe surrounding it.
