Chris Rock is by far my favorite, he's simply brilliant. Constant quality, I've loved everything I've seen by him. Unlike Dave Chappelle, Chris doesn't get stuck on the same subject (whites vs. blacks). Chappelle is just telling the same damn joke a million times.
The Robin Williams live on Broadway -DVD is pretty good, even though I normally hate the guy.
The Seinfeld-DVD (the one where there's a funeral at the beginning) on the other hand was a
huge
disappointment. I love the Seinfeld-series, but his stand-up routine sucks ass - even though the small skits he has on the show are usually pretty funny. Anyway, didn't crack a smile once, and barely made it through the DVD without falling asleep.
Bill Hicks was a sort of disappointment as well, though I do think he's alright. I was just expecting more because of all the hype. He spends (-or used to spend, since he's dead-) too much time making those "funny" noises on stage, well if you've seen him you know what I mean.

For me Chris Rock is like the new Eddie Murphy. Eddie is funny in Shrek as well if you really listen to it.
I recently discovered Ron White - he's quite funny too.

That's true, but unfortunately his Bits and Pieces -DVD isn't that great.. seems all his great material can be fit to 5 minutes, and he isn't able to sustain a longer show.

I know.. He's not one of the best, but does have some great material...
But like you said. Bits and Pieces is does not sustain a good flow through out.

once again, who's being funny William.
No one's being funny...No6rt6ni6lC. If you've got a problem with me you can send me a PM or use the Admin section but here it's pretty boring. Thanks.
Btw, I would say Seinfeld. Chris Rock is pretty funny too sometimes. I've never seen Chapelle so I don't know what the buzz is about.

**WARNING** Rated R
I thought I would also mention that George Carlin, Robin Williams, and Denis Leary, (All awesome comics) have used Bill Hicks skits in their own routines.

Dennis Leary has also stolen quite a bit of hicks' routine.

I give Dennis sort of a "free pass" on this one. (not that he deserves one)
But I think Dennis is very funny.
Also, he is a hockey nut from Boston, so...
Anyway...
There is no denying that Leary has based his stand-up carreer on Bill Hicks.
The way Leary talks about smoking (Jim Fixx), creating a whole persona built around ciggaretts, the way he would scream at the crowd, the way he would get very loud when he was trying to get a point across.
It's all good though.
Anyone that has really LISTENED to Bill Hicks, knows what it's all about, and there really is no close 2nd.
Hicks is kinda like Buckethead in a way.
They are both really well kept secrets.

Bill Cosby "Himself" hilarious tape, haven't seen it in years though, robin williams is probably my favorite, Live on Broadyway was awesome. I can't stand Chris Rock most of the time. He can be funny, I just got sick of all the black and white jokes. 1 more, that British cross-dresser, can't remember his name. He wasn't bad either.
