 Yo everyone,
? Isn't all of this news and leaks and such been JUST Fuckin' Great?!?

Now that it's Really starting to look like a release date is imminent, and a single is likely to be heard soon,I will say that it's a pure guarantee that CD will open at number ONE during it's first week.

Question is: How many copies will it sell it's 1st week???
I have a bet going with a friend that it will sell at least 500,000. Maybe upwards of 800,000.

I think this thing to going to rip everyone's fuckin' face clear off and turn the music industry on it's head!!!

Can't you feel the swell just growing? Imagine what we'll be like in 4 weeks?!?? drool
Fuckin' ANARCHY that's what!!!? Smiley yes rant Grin beer? Cheesy? smoking

GNR will rein supreme once again!!? yes

? ? ? GNR FOREVER!!

? ? ? ? ? MATT

You'll see... Typical responce in the next few days.. "Chinese Democracy is still not ready for a release but look for it soon." Promotion would have started already and the leaks are not that.

This is probably dead horse, but I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 300,000-500,000 is the most realistic.  That still is a very solid first week.  Also, I think this CD is going to have at least 3 really strong singles that will make it sell in the long run.  After its run, I think 3 million copies in the US is where it'll end up.

BLS, all signs point to something happening in the spring.  For the first time in ages, there is more evidence for something happening rather than something not happening.

This is probably dead horse, .
Its a rotting horse carcass. I've had similar threads sent to the tallow factory. If every GNR fan buys it, it should at least go platinum in the first week.

The critics will make or break this discs opening week.  If they pan it but it does indeed rock, it'll be up to the fans requesting it like crazy to get the radio playing it all the time to really push it.

My guess is most critics say its good, but "not good for a ten year wait" or some crap like that.  I bet it gets 3 out of 5 stars or a B, B+ type from most mainstream reviewers.  Rock critics, if they're a little older, will prob dig the hell out of it.  But those who genuine fans of todays modern rock (god knows who they are, but i'm sure they're outt here) will HATE it just b/c its GNR and Axl.

Time will tell, it will be an exciting time either way.

You think that will happen though?  Platinum in first week?  I can't remember the last album that did that.  I'd be shocked.

Because CD is a bigger story than VR.

Because a million people already know the gnr name, so there is the plus autmoatically...  it could sell 100k just because the first new piece of gnr material since the illusions 15 years or however they promote it..  When a band does a debut like VR the name is not known so therefore the singles have to either explode or the promotion has to be huge.. New guns has this already

+ the quality of the material and the promotion the record company will put into this thing after spending 13 million on it will make this album soar. wait and watch, guns n' roses with axl rose in the driver's seat will once again rule the world. i honestly don't think we know what we are in for.smoking

i'd hate to see what eevryone would say if the album wasn't a huge smash with number one singles..

I think it will do the same as vr did, number one debut but with a few more copies sold the first week, it will have a few mainstream modern rock chart number one single... No fucking way is it going to be a billboard top 100 with all the nancy boy music out there.. Then win their first grammy

I dont think it would take much in this era to go number 1. Maybe 100,000. Or a little more. I'm not sure. Like Mike said, it depends on what it's competing against, and also what time of year it comes out. Also, if CD is coming out this year, they better shelve any plans for another hits album, because CD attention would cause sales of that to rise, and possibly make CD sales suffer.
