Theres a rumor on the velvetrope that states that the GNR street team has been sumoned, anyone know any more about this? Heres his post....

"IRS and Better (a possible hit) were very good demos. TWAT is an idea, far from finished--it's all over the place (Axl call Izzy for a few tips).

The album must be getting ready to drop, as I see the street teams have been summoned. I'm a GNR fan, and beginning to become ill reading some of this blind praise.

The Kool Aid is better with a little vodka, btw."

Street Teams have unofficialy already started...

We are sending the demos to the radio, we keep on requesting them for airplay,
We post links to Music forums all over the world, we hook our friends to the new Demos.....

I don't think there is much left to do.....Roll Eyes

There is now a nice buzz prepared....I guess it's about time for Axl to deliver the real thing...

TWAT is an idea, far from finished

It sounds close enough to finished for my liking.

Why is there a need for street teams? Funny how those that think the album is taking over the world are the ones most in need of street teams. If Axl needs street teams, this fucking album is dead on arrival. GNR albums have always basically promoted themselves. The great quality of music has always done the talking. Not street teams.

The guy was being sarcastic regarding the street teams, as there are about five blathering GNR fanatics over there, who I suspect are members of these boards, that come across as semi-insane fanboy's. ?Some of the folks actually posting stuff over there, are so insane in their devotion to the band, that they are making GNR look bad in front of people who matter in the industry. ?It actually hurts the band, more than helps it.

The guy was being sarcastic regarding the street teams, as there are about five blathering GNR fanatics over there, who I suspect are members of these boards, that come across as semi-insane fanboy's.? Some of the folks actually posting stuff over there, are so insane in their devotion to the band, that they are making GNR look bad in front of people who matter in the industry.? It actually hurts the band, more than helps it.

I think that is stetching it a bit. Roll Eyes

Not stretching it at all. ?I used to read the Velvet Rope pretty regularly searching for GNR news. ?Anytime GNR was brought up, it got ugly fast. ?A few of the posts about the leaked songs from the "regulars" there (don't know who they are in real life) have been pretty positive considering their past posts about GNR. ?But, I can see how they'd get ticked off if "their" board was bombarded with GNR fans. ?I just lurk.

And like someone else stated. ?We'll be told if they want street teams to go into action. ?In my opinion, you shouldn't be sending links to the songs to the radio stations. ? In fact, it's been requested that we DON'T!

Hate to bring this thread back but I'm calling Mr. Johan out.

It wasn't more than two months ago you said there was nothing in the works for GN'R for at least 6 months and "Chinese Democracy" was probably never coming out.

So, Mr. "guy with connections", after 3 track leaks, a Rock In Rio 2006 announcement, several other show-possibilities, and an apparent impending release of "Chinese Democracy" in the coming moons, where are you now?

The poster was mocking GNR fans. This whole street team thing is ridiculous.

Dont even bother. Its not worth the effort. Take it from someone who has proven some of these fakes wrong on many ocassions. You can disprove them hundreds of times and some people dont care. Johan could come on here right now and say Moses is back and carrying more tablets down the mountain, and most people here would turn on CNN. Alot of GNR fans have a desire to believe, and they will even believe someone proven wrong in the past. All it takes to be an insider is a lucky guess. Are you lucky? nervous
